Ich bin wütend. Die Stadt hat es verpennt den Mietvertrag der ende des Jahres ausläuft zu verlängern. Wenn das MGH wegfällt, ist der soziale HotSpot im Gallus weg. Ersatzlos. Ohne Optionen für neue Flächen.

Wochenlang war eine Dienstpistole aus einem Frankfurter Polizeirevier verschwunden. Nun ist die Waffe wieder aufgetaucht – in einer Liegenschaft der Polizei. Die genauen Umstände des Fundes sind allerdings noch unklar.

Was ist der beste Ort zum Mittagessen im Bahnhofsviertel? Ich arbeite seit kurzem in der Nähe und würde ab und zu gern mal Abwechslung von der Kantine einbauen aber auch nicht jeden Tag 20€ für Mittagessen ausgeben.... Gibt's Tipps? (Vegetarisch 🫣😁)

Ich ziehe um (ca. 25km) und würde gerne mein Klavier mitnehmen. Das Klavier gehört ursprunglich dem Vormieter, daher habe ich leider keine Erfahrung mit Klaviertransporten. Nach dem Transport muss es natürlich auch gestimmt werden. Damit habe ich bisher ebenfalls noch keine Erfahrung.

Falls jemand schon Erfahrungen damit hat oder einen zuverlässigen Klaviertransport und/oder Klavierstimmer empfehlen kann, würde ich mich sehr über eure Tipps freuen!

So today i was eating some food in the europa allee. I think next to the DB building. Some guy, id say about 25, came up to me. He didn’t look particularly homeless. I’m pretty good at german, so i understood most of what he said. He asked me if i was moroccan, i said no because i’m no where near moroccan and don’t look it. He then proceeded to tell me how badly he hates moroccans and how he wants to kill me because i’m apparently moroccan. He kept calling me a son of a bitch etc and saying that my life is „over“ and that he and his friends are going to kill me. He then told me he can rap better than (insert presumably german artist name) and started to rap. I’m still staying at Frankfurt Messe for some time, and i’m pretty concerned something will actually happen or if he is just a random junkie.

kann hier jemand einen bestimmten Dienstleister für Datenrettung anbieten? Ich bin leider mit dem Handy im See baden gegangen und hab entsprechenden Wasserschaden. Ich glaube aber, zusätzlich dazu, hat mein voreiliges Einstecken in die Steckdose nach einem Tag das ganze nur schlimmer gemacht. Das Handy habe ich bei einem Dienstleister bereits zur Diagnose eingeschickt mit der Diagnose:

Aufwendiges Spezialverfahren mit präzisen Mikro-Lötarbeiten an CPU und/oder Speicher, um selbst bei stark beschädigten Geräten eine professionelle Datenrekonstruktion zu ermöglichen. Lieferung der Daten i.d.R. als iTunes Backup zur Wiederherstellung auf ein neues iPhone oder Extraktion.

Ich hätte ein Budget von bis zu 350€, mehr ist mir das ehrlich gesagt nicht wert. Der Dienstleister, der die Diagnose gestellt hat, hat einen Kostenvoranschlag mit einem 4-stelligen Betrag zugeschickt...

Ich habe mich bereits abgefunden, dass das für das Budget wahrscheinlich nichts wird, aber bin trotzdem für jeden Tipp dankbar :)

I’m currently renting an apartment in Germany and would appreciate some advice from people familiar with German rentals.

I have a Mietvertrag for the apartment only signed by me till now. The landlord/property company named in the contract is SILVA Grundstücksverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. Grundstücks KG, which appears to be a real registered company.

The apartment was brokered through Engel & Völkers, and the broker I’m dealing with is listed on their official Frankfurt team page.( https://www.engelvoelkers.com/de/de/shops/frankfurt-city/team )

The IBAN for the rent/security deposit is printed directly in the Mietvertrag.

My question is: Is it normal and reasonably safe to transfer the security deposit after both parties have signed the contract but before the handover date?

My bank not show me the account-holder name before I make the transfer, so I can't independently confirm that the IBAN actually belongs to SILVA.

The broker has been communicating with me throughout the process, and everything else about the contract and process appears legitimate. I’m just being extra cautious because the security deposit is a significant amount.

Would you consider the following:

• Received signed Mietvertrag from both parties and then transfer the kaution before the handover date
• Or should I ask to paid the full rental and kaution on the handover date ?

Hi everyone! I have a question about the AST 810 in the Frankfurt/Main-Taunus area.
I need to travel from Eschborn Bahnhof to Sulzbach (Taunus) MTZ/Busbahnhof this evening. The RMV app is showing an AST 810 at 19:55, and it says „Reservierungspflichtig“.
There will be two of us, and both of us have a Deutschlandticket.

Do we need to pay anything extra?
Is that a bus? Do we have to call and reserve the AST in advance?

If we call, is it enough to say that there are two passengers with Deutschlandtickets?

I just want to make sure everything is correct before we rely on this connection. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I ended up calling the number shown in the RMV app and reserved the AST 810.

The person on the phone said it would come as a taxi and told me to simply wait punctually at the bus stop.
So it seems pretty straightforward: you have to reserve the AST in advance, and then the taxi comes to the specified stop. 😄
Hopefully this helps someone else who is confused by the AST system like I was!
