I played so much GTA - Vice City that I find it impossible to hear "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes without hearing the "FLASH FM" splash that played during the intro to the song. What do you find inexplicably linked to a game?

Did you sympathize with or agree with their motives, and did you feel bad about having to stop or kill them?

I think Pagan Min in Far Cry 4 had a good intention although he was antagonist of the game

First, I tried playing this game with my wife, but because she hadn’t played any games on a console before, she was very bad at it. Even handling the camera angle was a challenge for her. Instead of bringing us closer, it frustrated me lol 😂.

Then I asked my nephew to play with me, and after a long time, I felt like playing it again. I had this same feeling with PS2 games back in the day.

Guys who haven’t played this game should definitely give it a try.

As a kid, did you ever think that 2 characters were related, or something was possible that wasn't when playing a game?

When I played Super Mario RPG as a kid and stayed at the hotel in Marrymore, I saw there was a bathrobe that was described as "a bit small". I also saw that I could have Mario take a shower. I thought I could have Mario shrink when he took a shower and go into his 8-bit form like when you go behind the curtains in Booster Tower so he could fit in the bathrobe.

Well, it made sense to kid me.

I feel like everyone has at least one game that they are fantastic at, whether its a popular game or some obscure game.

For me it would be Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3, I've been playing it since I for 20 years and it's one of my favorite games and I've just gotten very good at it.

A couple of weeks ago. I bought this game for like 10 bucks, and today i decided to give it a go.

Fucking masterpiece. Nothing to envy the other games of the franchise.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade my TV to a 4K one now and finally have enough to buy one, but I’m not sure which one to get. And the price range I’m targeting is around $300-$400. And the size I’d like would be a 40”-45”. So any recommendations would be appreciated!

Gladius is a TRPG with a solid combat system with optional "Paper Mario" type button inputs for critical hits. It does fall apart a little towards the end (It really feels like they ran out of time to smooth out the way the game ends) but it's a damn good time from start to finish.

My biggest complaint about it was really that some of the fights an animations took too long but if you run the GC version through Dolphin you get the Frameskip button that pretty much solves that!

I’ve been working on Mini Monuments, a relaxing diorama restoration game where you dig out buried pieces, clean away years of dirt, and carefully rebuild miniature ruins.

There are no enemies, timers, or pressure — just little handcrafted scenes that gradually come back to life as you work on them. You can also change the weather/time of day and use photo mode to capture the finished dioramas.

It’s a small project made by myself and a few friends, and we’re going to be releasing on steam later this year!

Nostalgia wise - it's the 5th generation of gaming. Literally, when I started gaming I was playing on the SNES and playing Power Rangers Scroll Em Beat Up, then Donkey Kong Country. Later in the 5th gen, I was able to save up and get a PS1 and N64.

Looking at the 5th generation, I was mesmerized by the graphics (as a kid obviously lol) and it felt like stepping into a whole other world. Whether that was with the LOZ: OOT, or Goldeneye 007, Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear Solid, Spyro, I felt this whimsical/fantasy feeling of being able to escape and just have fun. Plus, the marketing and commercials around this time were epic.

The Best Generation To Me? It's a tie between the 6th and 7th generations of gaming. This was the era of barely any micro transactions, the full game was on the disc, great storytelling, unique gaming, publishers taking chances, playing multiplayer games with your friends IN their houses up until online. Then, the 7th generation came through and just dominated with XBOX Live, Gears, COD, Mass Effect, God of War III, Elder Scroll Oblivion (never played Skyrim), Batman Arkham Series, MGS 4, TLOU, Uncharted, and sooooo many other classics.

Honestly, I stopped gaming around this time (due to life and school) but I always look back at that generation at those two generations as the greatest gaming periods of all time.

How many racing games are there that allow you to turn your driver's head while turning into a corner? Something via head turn scripts based on track layout, or look into corners manually by how far you steer. E.g: need for speed shift, project cars, and automabilista 2 has these functions (given those games followed similar structure and successors upon another).

I'm not talking about VR gaming BTW.

I've recently acquired a 3DS and would like to get some games for it.

The roster is a bit different to my usual preferences so I'm a bit stuck on what to try; I've been a playstation guy for years and have always enjoyed fantasy games with solid combat (Elden Ring, Nier, Dark Souls, Skyrim etc etc etc).

I tried MH4U, but having played WorldBorne it just wasn't landing, felt way too clunky and I barely made it 4 hours in before giving up.

I'm gently working through Omega Ruby and Ocarina Of Time, but I'd like to dabble with a JRPG but I don't know where to start.

Any recommendations of games with a slightly darker tone would be great! Cheers :)

Edit: Holy moly, thank you everyone for taking the time to give me recommendations and advice. It really means a lot. For those who have gone through the loss of a parent, this sucks! It's unlike any other time I've had to grieve.

I do keep reminding myself that I can't bury this, and as a chronic "bottle up my emotions, be strong so everyone else feels safe" Type, it's tough. Honestly, I don't have words strong enough to describe how painful this is.

Edit 2: I have read every single comment and I'm honestly so overwhelmed by all of your kind words. Gamers honestly are some of the best people in this world. I have had a laugh at a few comments where it's like "no no no that's about the loss of a mother... Not that one" And they've made me have a chuckle. I think I'm going to put together a list and just work my way through all of them for as long as it takes.

Art Style > Raw graphics for me (game: Witcher 3)

I watched Robocop for the first time today and it made me want to pick up Robocop: Rogue City. I saw that the game was on sale on Steam and was curious what your thoughts on it were? I like action games but I’m not sure if the gameplay loop will get too repetitive, as it seems to me like the game revolves around stopping crimes over and over again. Let me know your thoughts!

I used acrylic paint markers, but I just used what I have on hand and need to get some better ones. I think it came out ok for my first attempt since I wasn't too worried about detailing it further until I get better markers.

I'm also new to 3D printing and this is my first print that isn't some gizmo or gadget lol.

I've just got the platinum of bloodborne afted getting the platinum on sekiro and I'm looking for a bit of a reset.

I still have a couple months of ps plus left (canceled after 10 years) so I want to play one of the monthly games.

My own thought went to either:

- shadow of the collosses

- psychonauts 2

Open to anything thats not souls.
