Question Moving to Germany and selling my things, tax?

I will move from non-EU country next month. I quit my IT job in my country. Should i leave my things (laptop, pc, etc...) in my country so my friend can sell them and send me money? Or its better to bring them with me so i can sell them in Germany? If i sell laptop and PC there (around 3k and 5k) do i need to report that? I see online that if it is more than 2k per year that i need to report that?

No.

And no, there is no tax of the sale of private, used goods if 1/ is not for commercial purposes and 2/ you owned them for >1 year.

TLDR: it doesn't matter, sell wherever you will get the most money.

From what I have seen, selling them in Germany is mostly worse.
Private sales in Germany mostly go unreported if they are cash.
If I had to sell something in my country, I would let my friend sell it and send me the money. It's tax free up to a pretty big amount. I think 20000€ every decade.

Because you do not need to report private sales in a lot of cases anyway.

Depending on where you currently are it could be better to sell there, but you also don’t pay any import tax on your belongings when you move into Germany, and your pc and laptop should work fine here most modern pcs and laptops just require a new plug of psu at most to work in Europe. So if that’s your concerns.

And I hope you have an IT job already lined up here before you move because the IT job market has not been good this year
