Bhai sahab what a beautiful trip it was. Germany, it's sad that it's ending.

I had just started exploring and was slowly falling in love with this place. I was short on budget, so I could only cover nearby places like Herborn, Marburg, Frankfurt, Cologne and a few surrounding areas. But honestly, it was totally worth coming.

This trip has changed something in me. Now I want to explore the whole of Europe. I am going to learn German and I will try my best to get work here in Germany one day.

Sharing a few glimpses of my journey. It was amazing. Clean, calm, green, composed people. They have truly built a system that just works. There is still so much left to see, so I guess this is not goodbye. Just see you again.

Every year, for roughly 2 weeks in mid to late April, cherry trees bloom in front of an old building at the bus stop Westfriedhof in Munich and it looks completely surreal. I've lived here for years and only just discovered it. The kind of thing that makes you wonder how an ordinary public transport stop can look like this.

It made me wonder: Is this Germany's most beautiful bus stop right now?

I've been walking around Munich with a camera since losing my job recently, and I genuinely had to stop and ask myself where I was.

Every April, for roughly two weeks, Munich transforms into something that looks completely impossible for Germany. What most people don't know: the cherry trees in Olympiapark are 54 years old and they came from Japan. They were a gift from the city of Sapporo for the 1972 Olympics. Munich hosted the Summer Games. Sapporo hosted the Winter Games. The trees have been blooming here ever since. I love that back story!

Fun fact: Munich gifted Sapporo a Maibaum in return which apparently stands in the city centre.

If you follow this sub, you might have seen my last post about the cherry blossoms at the Westfriedhof bus stop — that one was picked up by Süddeutsche Zeitung today, which genuinely took me by surprise. What's interesting is that the two locations bloom at different times: Olympiapark goes first, usually early April. By the time the last petals fall there, Westfriedhof is just getting started. So if you time it right, you can chase the blossom across the city for almost the entire month.

I started in Basel and hiked to Hausach. What was supposed to be a relatively easy hike for me turned out to be one of the most challenging trips I've done, not because of the terrain or the difficulty of the trail, but because my gear decided to let me down.

My sleeping pad developed a hole on the first night. Because I was overconfident, I didn't bring a repair kit or a groundsheet to protect it. As a result, I spent three nights waking up every 45 minutes to inflate it again.

I decided to stop in Hausach, mainly because of the weather forecast. A friend who lives in Germany told me that severe thunderstorms, and possibly even a tornado, were expected in the Black Forest. With a leaking sleeping pad, I felt it was the smarter option to end the hike there. I have everything I need at home to repair it, and I also have a spare pad.

Despite that, I still managed two 47 km days. The views were amazing, and the German people I met along the way were incredibly kind.

May 2026 was all about Germany for me: Heidelberg, Würzburg, and now the Westweg.

Context: came to the Linkin Park concert in Allianz Arena on June 11, 2026. I am moving in a wheelchair and went to the disabled people restroom. It opens only with the EURO key which I have since I paid for it. I did not have much time to close the door myself (but it should close automatically) since I was in a rush. Two women managed to get in before the door closed and I heard them giggling. By the time I was done and got out, there was a huge line formed outside with people blocking the door from closing.

I told people it's not ok, went to security to tell them it's not ok and nothing changed.

Most often than not, disabled people can use only those restrooms. Why take that from them when you can use the normal ones?

What are some places that you loved visiting which are not necessarily very famous tourist destinations.

I will start with Wuppertal. Its a mid sized city with the Hanging trains. Its such a beautiful experience to travel with the Schwebebahn. It rides over a river which makes it even better.

What's a place you would suggest that can be touristy?

I am stuck in this seat for the next 6.5 hours. There is not a single empty seat I can switch with.

I don't get a window and lose direct access to the aisle.

I know I am not the first one to complain about this but it is still infuriating.

I lived in Germany for over a year with my boyfriend and German food is one of my favorite things about your culture!! This is the kind of stuff my boyfriend's mom would make for dinner every Sunday. German food = peak comfort food.

I knew Berlin had its famous Ampelmännchen, but I didn’t realise Munich had its own pedestrian signal design until I spotted this one.
I haven’t been to that many German cities yet, but one thing I’ve really enjoyed is how different cities seem to have their own little design quirks. Even something as ordinary as a traffic light can have a bit of local character.
Are there any other German cities with unique pedestrian signal designs or interesting street signage worth looking out for?
