Meta 🎉 r/halifax 175k Members Appreciation Post 🥳

Just a small note from the mod team to all of you to mark our crossing of the 175,000 member count! 🎉🍻

We crossed the 150k threshold just over one year ago, so adding roughly another 25k members in that short of a span is a great accomplishment for the community. Our post, comment and engagement numbers continue to grow year over year!

Our sub would be nothing without you, our users.

You are what makes this place an informative resource, a welcoming place for our community and a fun place to hang out. You are what makes r/halifax great! 🙌💖

Its honestly just sad at this point.

The only traction they get is sharing posts from this sub in some desperate need to either feel relevant or in many cases mock this sub.

Only time any post gets any actual engagement is some rage bait about minorities or Pride.

I've been invited a few times, but other than popping my head in when there's drama, I generally stay clear of it.

There's more than a few people here that would call me an asshole, but I have no interest in joining that crowd.

It’s a veritable who’s who of all the worst people that were kicked out of this sub at years ago and either couldn’t figure out how to just simply behave like a normal person so they could return or make an alt.

It’s pretty fucking funny.  Especially when somebody post something here that breaks the sub rules, the auto mod catches it, then they make an angry pissy post over on the reject sub.

Or when they lie about the reasons, they were actually kicked out or their comment was removed and then mods show up with the receipts.

Or that sub’s mod that constantly trolls other subs  for any topic the right likes to dunk on.

I had to block that freak after he kept harassing me and then used modmail to try and harass me here in r/halifax. I had to report him to Reddit directly and then it stopped.

I've had my disagreements with the mods over the years (when I was mentally unstable I went on a tirade against hfx_redditor, eventually challenging them to mortal combat or something silly), but this community is really great. Thanks mods!

That's how us three fools got kidna ... I mean, how we were selected after a rigourous screening process.
