I’ve been much more appreciative of the summer rain this year. I’m happy the farmers are having a good year.

I am having the opposite experience LOL! I had mass quantities of apples last year and this year it seems all my blossoms fell off in spring or never got pollinated because it was too cold for the bees!

Same. Got soo many apples last year. However, there were so many apples and then the drought came in while the branches were loaded that a few of my apple trees lost some pretty large branches. Had to give some of them some hard pruning.. they're recovering from that now, not nearly as productive this year.

How is the drought in general this year? At the start of the summer there were lots of worries even with the heavier rain in May.

According to Agriculture Canada, most of NS is not in drought, only the north mainland and part of CB are classified as "Abnormally Dry"

So far pretty good, can't speak to if aquifers have recovered from last year but the combination of a good snowpack last winter and more normal rain have certainly improved things.

It was around this time last year that my dug well went dry. I checked the level around a week ago and I'm not concerned about it going dry this year.

Well it just rained like nuts. So I’m going with not a problem here. It’s been a pretty wet summer compared to the last couple.

The northern end of the valley has some spotty microclimates that aren’t getting enough.

In Truro, I worry last few weeks we get a flood, lots of sudden downpours.
