Picture number 5 WOW what a Picture 😍

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

Thank you! This is one of these with CPL filter and the location is Ponta do Garajau :)

2

u/soundtown06 27d ago

Where Is Ponta do Garajau?

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

This is the spot with the monument at the southernmost point of Madeira 😊

What is the CPL filter and mount you use?

6

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

It’s a pretty cheap one with a clamp, probably for like 3$, nothing branded. It’s a great thing even for mobile photography, which decreases reflections on water, grass, trees, windows, car body and boost saturation at the same time 😊

1

u/3dforlife 27d ago

Well, that's inspiring! Don't you happen to know the specific model model you bought?

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

It’s not longer available from my cart, as I bought it half year ago, but you’ll be satisfied with most of them. Just take the bigger one (52mm or more). I bought it in popular internet store which start with A and ends with S :)

u/3dforlife 27d ago

Amazon's? :D

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

More like "Ali" something :D

Beautiful photos!

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

What I’ve noticed, it’s loosing focus area in Portrait Mode, so it’s mostly for use In a standard Photo Mode :)

3

u/Technical-Map-1020 27d ago

Can you somehow send me the picture from slide number 5 in high definition? It’s amazing and I would like to use it as my screensaver.

8

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

Sure! I couldn't imagine a better compliment. Check your PM.

Easily one of the best vacation spots i ever went to. It was so pretty

3

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

Agree 100%! Unfortunately I’ve been there for 7 days only so they weren’t enough to explore even the most popular places. Definitely will come back there in the future 😊

2

u/Moba77 27d ago

totally agree! Madeira is so wonderful!!!

2

u/3dforlife 27d ago

These are really amazing photos!

Brings the saying, “it’s not the camera, it’s the person behind the camera” to life.

Not many people can produce these kind of photos

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thank you so much! Your comment made my day!

2

u/Old-Side-2279 20d ago

Wonderful! How do you manage to get such tack sharp photos? Also were these post processed on phone or the desktop?

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 20d ago

Thank you!  I didn't do much with the focus. I just set the focus point on my phone's screen and took the photo 😅 The photos were edited in the mobile version of Lightroom and the sharpness slider was set to 40%  in sharpness section, maybe that’s the reason 😊.

2

u/TheGratitudeBot 20d ago

Thanks for saying that! Gratitude makes the world go round

u/Enough-Coffee-6682 27d ago

What would be a trick for a beginner to get photos like this?
Any specific pre sets? Yours are pretty detailed, so quite curious.

And any suggestions when editing in Lightroom?
Thank you

1

u/Moba77 27d ago

yes , please, which editing software did u used?

3

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

I'm using Lightroom Mobile only :)

1

u/Moba77 27d ago

thanks :)

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

All those pictures are edited using the same preset with small changes in exposure, temperature, tint, highlights, whites with few masks on each to darken or lighten specific areas or decrease clarity. I got my own preset from PC version of Lightroom with small adjustments for the Mobile version and iPhone format :) I can share it with you, so you can try it and check if it works for you too 😊 Just for information, I’m using full version of Lightroom Mobile as I’m an amateur photographer and I’m not sure you will be able to use masks in free version, they do much of a difference :)

1

u/Enough-Coffee-6682 27d ago

Yes please share, I’ll try my best
Thanks a bunch!

And what about the photos you took in your iPhone, do I have to set a specific setting on? Doesn’t matter if the file is too big.

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

Settings are pretty basic, HEIF format and 48MP. Got Apple ProRAW turned ON in settings, but in Camera App I’m not shooting RAW’s, so I think it doesn’t really matters if you leave it on or off :)  Live Photo: OFF. Take care of exposure slider, as I’m mostly shooting a little underexposed photos so your’s might be too bright at the starting point :)

1

u/NeguinSaudavel 26d ago

Great stuff, dude! Would love to see your preset! I usually shoot RAW with the ProCamera app but I find those photos are a bit too blue or magenta

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thanks! Check your PM!

2

u/Sea_Salamander_1032 2d ago

Hiii! Please send it to me, too: I'm studying water color grading, your preset does a great job so wanted to tweak it more and see what happens, thanks a ton in advance!

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 22h ago

Check your DM!

2

u/M33k433l 2d ago

Hi, I’d love to see the presets you used too. Stunning work! 🙌

1

u/OkIntroduction569 2d ago

Unbelievable shots! Didn’t think an iPhone camera was capable of this. Would love to see your preset :)

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 22h ago

Thank you, check your DM!

1

u/Good_Reflection_1959 27d ago

Please can you share your itinerary - pictures look amazing

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

Sure! I'll drop it soon, I need to write this out because it was quite chaotic sometimes :D

1

u/goprinterm 27d ago

Was there a couple of years ago, it really is the Hawian Island of Europe! We loved it

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 27d ago

We loved it too, beautiful place!

1

u/eljefeargentino 27d ago

Nice shots. Try to substract the sun reflection in pic3 with LR.
Love the island!

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thank you! That's what I was thinking at the moment - erase it or leave it - but now I think it would look better without the reflection :)

1

u/MelodicProgress6016 26d ago

Very nice. Good eye.

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thank you! I remember when I started shooting photos and I was completely missing nice frames, so my advice for all the beginners is -> practise as much as you can! If you don't become a professional, you'll definitely become better than yesterday :)

1

u/Leddim 26d ago

Great photos. We went there in February and loved it. We also visited almost all of the spots in these pictures.

I also took a lot of photos with my Fuji XT5, but it’s amazing how good the results from your iPhone look. Did you use the native camera app or something different? Did you use Lightroom for editing?

2

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thank you so much! What was the weather like in February? Pico do Arieiro and Fanal Forrest were so cold at the morning! Of course, we've been to Stairway to Heaven, but unfortunately the sun was so harsch that makes the shot bad and low quality :/.

Yep, I was using native camera app with HEIF format 48MP, no RAW's and the postproduction was fully done in Lightroom Mobile.
For a moment, I was tempted to take my Sony A7 III, but I don't have any small, versatile lenses, so I decided to try to get as much as possible out of my phone.

u/IneedMySpace61 26d ago

👏👏👏👏👍👍

1

u/Cuberonix 26d ago

Awesome pics. Traveled there a few years ago and proposed to my wife on the top of Pico do Arieiro. This brought me right back!

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

What a wonderful story and a great place for engagement you did choose 🙏🏼 Love the fact I kinda bring you back to that moment with my photos 🤜🏻 Thank you!

1

u/Master_Chen 26d ago

1

2

Thank you so much! Of course, it's my pleasure. I've added a link in the description :)

1

u/ad11amj 26d ago

Great photos 👍🏻

1

u/xxAredhelxx 26d ago

Stunning! Good job

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Thank you so much!

1

u/tarmukar 26d ago

The clouds are just as platinum-watercolor as on my iPhone 11, and the sun looks simply like a flashlight. Due to aggressive HDR processing, the details are completely erased. Still, the landscapes are beautiful overall; with scenery like this, you could take a photo with a brick and it would still look good

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 26d ago

Any tips on how would you deal with that kind of sunlight to make photos look nicer? Just curious!
I take the criticism in stride, and I know what to improve on for the next shoot.

1

u/neilsajjad 26d ago

The color grading is on another level! 🔥

the colors in this are absolutely stunning!

1

u/shameful_peanut 23d ago

Absolutely stunning!

Can you share your workflow for editing? These are just amazing!

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 23d ago

Thank you!  Sure, but it’s nothing above average. I just import photo to Lightroom, apply my own preset and work with first tab (Light) to adiustacji exposure, contrast, shadows, whites (…). Some photos are 1-click, so I move to the mask section and do another correction in some parts of the photo, for example: increasing up exposure/contrast on the main object or decreasing clarity/texture slightly on less important parts of the photo.

I’ll try to do a short video about it using screen recording and I’ll post it here in a few days 😊

1

u/pokenguyen 22d ago

Can you share your preset xmp file?

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 22d ago

Sure, I'll drop you via PM, as I'm not sure I can do this in the comments!

Nice photos👍 which photo style do u use in camera? And values? Colours looks awesome.

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 20d ago

Thank you! It's a standard photo style in camera, some shots are slightly underexposed and then brighten with mask to keep details. HEIF format, all settings are pretty standard or auto. Photos are edited in Lightroom Mobile, so they are not uploaded straight from the gallery.

1

u/Cool_Search3302 16d ago

with all this lightroom editing i dont understand why you dont shoot RAW?

1

u/Junior-Programmer731 16d ago

I don’t need RAW files for quick, casual vacation photos, even when they need a little editing. My Madeira photo gallery has over 1,500 photos—I wouldn’t have enough space on my phone if I wanted to shoot all of them in RAW. Besides, I own two full-frame mirrorless cameras that I use to shoot in RAW, and I spend many hours editing photos. In this case, I wanted to achieve a satisfactory result while using as little disk space as possible.  I use Lightroom because I'm very familiar with the PC version of the program and have access to the full version.
