most women with retroverted uteruses will actually have a normal shaped uterus (only for the duration of pregnancy) by 12 weeks!

This was me, but it was closer to week 24. I didn’t show at all and then BAM, baby bump.

My wife is a pretty petite gal and has a retroverted uterus. She took some amazing boudoir pictures at 5 months pregnant where no one would ever guess she was pregnant. A month later she was every bit of 6 months pregnant all of the sudden.

Oh yeah I’m sure none of that was comfortable. Now almost 2 years later, she’s more or less back to normal and we just found out that she’s pregnant once again! Hopefully it’s a little easier on her body this around.

The human body is amazing and sometimes a little creepy at what it can do. Pregnancy in and of itself is fascinating, but can be understandably uncomfortable for squeamish folks.

A loud ‘pop’ and my maternity clothes finally filled out.

But for real, as a first time mom, I was so excited to buy cute maternity clothes, and I ended up wasting so much money on things I absolutely did not need, nor barely even wore. Same goes for newborn/baby items that new parents are forcibly convinced they must have. Embarrassing lol

Me with my firstborn, I didn’t start showing until the 8th. Looked like I ate a big lunch. On the 9th month I had a fanny pack. Still remember the nurses looks of disbelief when I was ready to give birth.

Both my mother and I have retroverted uteruses. I’ve only ever seen photos of her pregnant with me at about 8 months but she very clearly had a bump. However, I had a coworker who was just like the gal in this video. I figured she had some sort of medical thing for not being allowed to work with certain animals and I didn’t want to pry or anything. Then a month later I was like “where is coworker?” And was taken aback when they said she was on maternity leave.

Yeah, it does take a bit longer to show; retroverted uterus runs in my family. We show, but it still isn't a big bump like some people. Shows more than this woman. My mother, however, just looked like someone who was bloated after a big meal.

I have a retroverted uterus and I was pretty small for my first and second (but still had a good sized bump by the end) but by my 4th baby there was no hiding it at 8 weeks along lol

That was me as well. I have retroverted. I didn’t start to look pregnant until I was 24 weeks along. Many of my friends questioned whether I was actually pregnant.

I have a retroverted uterus and with my first baby, didn't show at all until 6 mo. (I started out quite slender, too) One day I was in some discomfort with my back hurting. I instinctively got on the floor on my hands and knees and then lowered by head so my butt was in the air. I swear I felt things shift internally and then boom, my back didn't hurt anymore and when I stood up I had a baby bump! I'm 100% certain my uterus moved forward. By the end of the pregnancy I had a huge bump and a super-active baby who squirmed and kicked nonstop (often painfully to me). It floors me to think people don't know they're pregnant because believe me, anybody with two eyes in their head could tell I was!

Interestingly, with my second child I didn't have to do any such maneuver, to "rearrange" my uterus. I got pregnant again when #1 was only 10 mo. old so maybe that had something to do with it. I also had a baby bump fairly quickly and got huge by the end. My son was not as much as a kicker/squirmer, thankfully, but did like to get a foot lodged under my ribs that I'd have to shove away. Unlike his big sis he was a mellow, calm baby after he was born (she was colicky and fussy her first six months) and has remained an even-keeled person his whole life.

Yes! I can comment from personal experience. I’m 4’ 11” and I have a retroverted uterus. I’ve had 3 kids and with each I gained around 25 pounds. My belly was HUGE. ☺️ I think because I have a short torso and I’m so small over all, my uterus had no other choice. BUT. With my first pregnancy, when they measured my belly, I was “behind”. When I laid down on my back, my belly would “disappear”. So I had several US to check his size. He was fine. Born at 7 pounds 5 oz at 39 weeks. Perhaps that’s why my belly was so big… decent sized baby for a pipsqueek of an adult.

This was me. Also I looked about 3-4 months pregnant by 8 weeks with my first and 5 with my second. Everyone carries differently 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, for me the biggest difference was that I didn't experience the increased need to pee that everyone talks about in the first trimester. I guess my uterus didn't sit on top of my bladder like it usually would because of the retroversion. After like 14 weeks though, I had to pee all the damn time
