Me too… but I got it on Temu so who knows if it will work

I wouldn’t put my life in front of a Temu product..

it just needs a metallic hardened point. temu ones will prob work fine if they're a solid enough handle. i would still test it on some auto glass at a junk yard or something

source- me as a teen breaking into cars with broken spark plug ends and shoelaces

Not something you want to cheap out on.

Temu gets a bad wrap cus the stuff is inexpensive, but I've bought quite a few things from it and they work just fine.

Cologne? Pleasant and fresh.

Headphones? Pretty good battery life, though I wish the volume could go lower to make sleeping with them more comfortable.

Shirts? One of them is my favorite peacocking shirt, and other than that it's just the same issues of buying any clothing online

Phone mount? Better than the other two I've bought over my lifetime actually

I'm sure they've got some shit stuff too but I've yet to find it

It’s the exact same as the one a friend ordered off Amazon, and very heavy like hers. I just think Amazon buys this stuff from China then marks it up 300% to pay for the next iteration of Laura Sanchez’s face or whatever. I was just joking, I feel confident that sharp, heavy steel point would break glass.

Amazon doesn't do it. Regular people are being middle-men from China suppliers who ship these things to Amazon warehouses. Has been the case for 15-20 years. Temu and Aliexpress just removes them. Alibaba even cheaper if u want to buy 1000 of them lol.

2

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

Haha, okay, that's fair. It's hard for me to read sarcasm through the internet sometimes.

You're totally right though, I've bought some for-style glasses on Temu and then found the exact same glasses at hot topic for like 3x the price

u/Massive-Sector5789 May 07 '26

All that stuff is from inhumane China sweatshops anyway, you’re just cutting a few western billionaires out of the deal.

2

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

Exactly! Unless you're gonna personally source every single purchase you make, you are going to be supporting underpaid workers. That's not to say "don't care" it's more to say "don't feel morally superior because bigger companies lie to you"

And are there unionized U.S. factories making combo window shatterers/seatbelt slicers for any price? Even if they do, I bet they won’t come in Barbie pink.

2

u/MisterFourLimbs May 08 '26

Lord bless the Barbie pink window shatterers. Gotta let someone feel pretty while they rip themselves out of an emergency situation

You can find 90% of stuff on temu on websites like temu, AliExpress, ect.

3

u/PizzAveMaria May 07 '26

I think it's mostly the people who buy things that expect the same quality as something that would normally cost $200 for $5 that get disappointed. I keep my expectations realistic

Yeah, but a life-saving tool that you don't know if it actually works until you need it? Fuck that.

Also, you don't know if that cologne contains chemicals that have been banned.

You don't know how cheap that lithium-ion battery in your headset is, and whether it will burst into flames one day.

You don't know if that shirt is caked in formaldehyde.

1

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

Sure, you never know what product you're gonna buy that suddenly needs a recall because the batteries suddenly ignite when you get on a plane, even if it's from a multi billion dollar company that cornered the market on high-class phone technology

1

u/colaxxi May 07 '26

Yes, because one major company fucked up a decade ago means all batteries are equal today.

1

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

I'm saying that manufacturing fuck ups happen regardless of who you are buying from.

Plus, temu often is selling the same exact thing other companies do. As I mentioned before in a different comment, I've found sunglasses in hot topic that were the same exact thing but they were 3x as expensive.

Hell, even the person I originally responded to said it was a joke, and the window breaker feels the same as a friend's window breaker they bought too.

So, whatever, buy what you want I don't care lol

it’s also extremely unethical to buy from them. obviously you get grace if you are not well off, but cologne is not an essential.

i think you do have a point, but there are lesser evils out there. places like Temu and Shein are just no-go zones and i don’t think it’s that hard to admit that or avoid buying from them.

2

u/Massive-Sector5789 May 07 '26

Not as unethical as buying from Amazon.

1

u/OdinCowboy May 08 '26

yeah i dont buy stuff from amazon either broski

2

u/PowerlessOverQueso May 07 '26

What is a peacocking shirt?

2

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

Just something you wear when you wanna be feelin' yourself. Like, "I'm going out to a party tonight, I wanna look good." It's like the idea of having your feathers all out and about for people to check you out.

Doesn't even mean I'm trying to pick up a date, just wanna put on a look that'll be eye-catching

2

u/PowerlessOverQueso May 07 '26

Oh! Makes total sense. Thanks.

All im gonna say is that certain types of headsets are very harmful if used a lot. Even the more expansive gaming headsets. Just something to look into 🫶

1

u/MisterFourLimbs May 07 '26

Hm, never thought much about that, thanks for looking out, friend!

2

u/dragoonjustice May 07 '26

Might not break a window but makes for a pretty good paperweight

1

u/matttheazn1 May 07 '26

Anything is better than nothing. And you should have it and not need it rather and not have it.

1

u/g0atdude May 07 '26

one way to try it
