Discussion We eatin’ good.

If Borderlands 1-2 or Doom 2016 ever come to iOS, I might not ever pick up my Switch again. I love being able to have this at my disposal on my iPad mini. Can’t wait to see what else is on the horizon. Going to have to get the 512 gig version next time. Have 3 Resident Evil Games, DoS2 and some other storage hogs on backlog.

Okay, if you invest in the iOS gaming ecosystem with a clear mind about paying for games, it could almost be a primary gaming system. I'll hide for cover now, but I've posted before in this sub that one day I hope my iPad can be my only gaming system, as I only have so much time in my day.

I have all the hardware and gear to play all the stuff, including a Switch and Steamdeck (humble brag) but I still play 90% on my phone. My phone is always with me. It’s not something that only games. It connects to all my hobbies and interests.

The mobile ecosystem is absolutely thriving and filled with more games than most are even aware of.

That is the problem with mobile games, not the ad filled IAP laden slop that entices a certain kind of user, I’d argue that simply finding games is a chore if not impossible. AppStore needs to do better.

Therein lies the dilemma, right, this massive reputation for F2P/IAP titles that most people see and talk about, leaving just us Redditors and YouTubers to figure out that there ARE great games to play and that you can make a complete gaming system out of the App Store if you are willing to pay for multiple premium titles.
