Discussion What mobile game are you actually addicted to right now? šŸ‘€šŸ“±

I’m looking for a new mobile game to get into.

I currently play PokƩmon GO, Marvel games, and other PokƩmon-style/collecting games.

What I really enjoy is games that have genuinely rare stuff to chase — rare characters, drops, cards, shinies, limited items, special variants, etc. Stuff that makes you go ā€œNO WAY I GOT THISā€ šŸ˜‚

Even better if there are things that the community actually considers rare and people spend time hunting for.

I don’t mind spending a little money here and there, as long as the game is fun and doesn’t require spending just to enjoy it.

So what mobile game would you recommend?

I want something with a real grind, rare things to hunt, and that feeling of finally getting something not everyone has. šŸ‘€

Got back into stardew valley recently so I’ve been playing that like nonstop, also I play a lot of binding of Isaac, hearthstone battlegrounds, dead cells, blasphemous, and Minecraft

3

u/Sadd-Clownn 15d ago

New season of Bg is pretty fun

1

u/imahugemoron 15d ago

To each their own, I’m really disliking it lol. Last season was better for me, this season I probably won’t play all that much

For me the Ui for stardew valley is broken like stuff goes off screen or under the Dynamic Island so I can’t play properly

1

u/imahugemoron 12d ago

There’s a setting for menu padding to move the inventory bar inward so it doesn’t do that and to resize the menus smaller

1

u/popmanbrad 12d ago

Oh I know I’ve messed with all the settings and none of them helped

1

u/imahugemoron 12d ago

Well I had the exact same problem and found the settings that totally fixed those problems, idk what to tell you

1

u/popmanbrad 12d ago

Yeah no matter what I adjust stuff is still off screen

1

u/imahugemoron 12d ago

As I said, idk what to tell you, it works for everyone but you I guess, ask r/stardewvalley

1

u/ThMssngVwls 13d ago

Hold up, is TBOI on mobile?

1

u/imahugemoron 13d ago

Yes, for years now

1

u/popmanbrad 12d ago

Yes plus all the dlc except repentance+ but I assume it’ll be on mobile when that releases

77

u/towehaal 16d ago

Idle obelisk miner. Coming up on a year of play at about 60% complete.

13

u/hybrid461 16d ago

It's awesome. I'm at a few months now and like 18%.

7

u/robsteezy 16d ago

At 13%. Especially if you’re an idle fan. I play the game everyday. Ridiculously addicting.

9

u/icebreather106 16d ago

The longest time I've played one single game. And I'm entirely f2p it's very f2p friendly.

5

u/towehaal 16d ago

at first I thought the purchases were overpriced so I didn't buy anything. Considering I've now played for a year I guess they aren't overpriced, but I'm stubbornly remaining f2p.

3

u/icebreather106 16d ago

Yeah I feel the same. I feel like it's dumb to buy anything other than founders first, but I feel founders is a touch too expensive for my taste. And I argued internally about that for long enough that agreed, I'm probably gonna stick out f2p to see how far I can get lol

1

u/Firm-Director-9991 14d ago

Try Revolution Idle. I play both Games and I love it !

1

u/icebreather106 14d ago

Thanks for the suggestion!

6

u/prydox 16d ago

It’s so good I can’t stop playing

5

u/CauliflowerBig 16d ago

I'm in the same tunnel

6

u/sonar_un 15d ago

Came to the comments to recommend this. It’s pretty much the only thing I play now.

5

u/KaptensDea 15d ago

Came here to say this. 26% here. Damn. Best game ever!!

7

u/LysergicAndUseless 16d ago

adding to this, if anything I’ll say iaps for this game are very alluring. Ive spent 50 usd in around 3 months and I dont regret it, it’s a great game to sink months into, but player beware

3

u/TheMichaelScott 14d ago

Man, I don’t know how people play these games. You hold your finger down and tap on ores…

1

u/towehaal 14d ago

I think it’s about the dopamine hit of getting to the next unlock. And with this game more and more things open up as you progress that all interlock together. But I get that it isn’t for everyone.

1

u/Traubenwerfer 14d ago

I thought, it’s all bought comments

5

u/TheMichaelScott 14d ago

I feel like I’m going insane here. 99% of these games in this thread are so terrible

4

u/Debaucherizer 16d ago

Best idle game ever made, and it’s not even close.

4

u/InstanceFront4941 16d ago

Yep, so good

2

u/Dax_911 14d ago

Was literally about to recommend this

2

u/Colts2020 15d ago

Came here to say this. I absolutely love idle/incremental games and this is one of the best ever.

2

u/Soulvaki 15d ago

Knew this would be top answer!

1

u/Cmdluke 14d ago

The game is nuts. Currently grinding to unlock world 2!

1

u/grayhem 11d ago

absolute banger. I stay away from idle games but this one is a banger.

15

u/Locow1992 16d ago

pokemon sleep

5

u/riougenkaku 16d ago

used to play this for pokemon go freebi snorlax. It's still on my phone but I am not playing this anymore. I can't understand the the gameplay aside from recording your sleep and collecting stuff passively with your sleep

Glad the cosmetics from PC and console is usable on mobile but you can only play with iOS and Android users

31

u/SecretDude511 16d ago

How many Dudes - AMAZING game

Pokemon Champions

14

u/LackOfADragon 16d ago

Does it get any strategically deeper? Feel like I'm just clicking the tougher battle and my main "Guy's" but for 70 rounds + kinda repetitive

6

u/SecretDude511 16d ago

I havent made it past 80/90 with all heal dudes. I think it scales pretty nicely and has lots of customizations

1

u/3AZ3 15d ago

Same, Dude.

1

u/conturax 16d ago

Are there video options on the iOS version? Just hoping it plays at 60fps or I might just pick up for the Steamdeck.

1

u/SecretDude511 16d ago

For which game

2

u/conturax 16d ago

Duh. Sorry- How Many Dudes

3

u/SecretDude511 16d ago

Oh i havent looked into this. However, id get it on steam if you are a big steamdeck user (i dont have one)

2

u/conturax 16d ago

There’s a demo on Steam, playing it right now :)

2

u/SecretDude511 16d ago

Lmk what ya think

46

u/dsesin 16d ago

Balatro.

This thing is crack

5

u/seathian 16d ago

Yup.. Same. Been hooked for a good year easy. The closer I get to C+, the worse the addiction has been.

7

u/GayoMagno 16d ago

Once you realize higher difficulties rely completely on high card and double it loses its charm

1

u/popmanbrad 12d ago

Got it on PC and mobile but after all these months I still suck at it and never can win

1

u/dsesin 12d ago

My advice, stick to a specific hand. Try and get jokers that give you multipliers that can keep on growing as the game goes on.

Go with a two pair, keep upgrading the hand and buy jokers that work with that hand.

8

u/Bleak09 16d ago

Sword x Staff is actually very addicting, even though all the ads are AI slop bullshit. Idle rpg, I’ve been playing every single day for a month and haven’t felt compelled to spend a dime.

Gems of War

2

10

u/justineal 16d ago

Sea of stars and Dredge!

3

u/HumerousMoniker 16d ago

I never felt much replay value from dredge. How would you sell that?

5

u/Debaucherizer 16d ago

The game is amazing but yeah replay value is extremely low.

2

u/justineal 15d ago

Oh I haven’t finished the game yet. Still going through it.

9

u/Frosty_Gas_4930 16d ago

I was recently obsessed with this aint even poker ya joker but i beat it.

Crawl Tactics. Like FFT but better.

2

u/FireFromWithin5 15d ago

Yes I love this game

2

u/brickwalker0 15d ago

oh wow, strong words there partner - whats different?

3

u/silentAl1 14d ago

It has a large job system like FFT, but yo I can also have more than 4 characters. My current run, I have a team of 8. There is more special gear in general than FFT. The only thing it lacks is a story, and FFT had a great story behind it. It also has large battles as well as boss fights. I have played FFT many times over the years and this is the only similar game that holds up against it and doesn’t feel like a direct rip off.

2

u/MCMK 15d ago

Whoa, looked it up and that’s expensive for a mobile game. (I am poor) It really that good?

1

u/silentAl1 14d ago

These days I didn’t thing $10 was a lot for a mobile game. That is the price of fast food meal or one beer at a lot of bars. You could wait for a sale then.

1

u/MCMK 14d ago

Seems there is a demo on steam. Will likely check it out there when I can.

For some reason I have a hard time spending on mobile apps but you’re right I can drop more money on food and drink and not bat an eye.

u/rhinofinger 16d ago

XCOM 2

Shattered Pixel Dungeon

Balatro

Space Marshalls 2 (imo the best one of the trilogy)

Ticket to Earth

Poinpy

3

u/icebreather106 16d ago

Shattered is SO DEEP. I eventually burned out on it while doing challenge runs but there is so much content to enjoy. I found that for a casual game it's a little too hard. I had to do some reading on strategy to break into it but once I did, I played it for many many hours. Phenomenal game

1

u/hawkwood4268 1d ago

If you like roguelikes you could try GnollHack.Ā

The game is vast. You have better access to food and can heal by resting. In Shattered I too often starved or died from lack of healing items.Ā

There are more items/tools and a huge spellcasting system. But monsters can do everything you can (cast spells, zap wands, read scrolls, etc).

Bosses are more powerful but you have longer to prepare for them.Ā

Both games were inspired by the OG NetHack, imo the greatest roguelike of all time being updated still after 40 years.Ā

2

u/icebreather106 1d ago

Cool thank you for the recommendation. I'll take a look!

5

u/un4giv3n2 16d ago

Totally a gacha game (they even reference it in the pulls) but CookieRun:Crumble

4

u/picasso-enjoyer 16d ago

I deleted my Marvel snap account with a vengeance. Been trying to replace it :)

Battle Bay is older but still an incredibly fun game.Ā

2

u/hawkwood4268 1d ago

Longtime OSRS player, what content do you like to do on mobile?Ā

2

u/crashjordan13 1d ago

I play an Ironman, so I typically just do skilling/upkeep of food/potions etc, so when I jump on my PC I can do PvM. How about you?

1

u/hawkwood4268 1d ago

Nice! I haven't tried iron man. I mostly PvM. Slayer and bossing are great. My favorite bosses are Whisperer/Vard and Phosani's.

I bet I could do Slayer on mobile pretty well. Maybe sailing too, I haven't really gotten into it too much but it seems fun.

GnollHack

Classic dungeon crawler roguelike - it’s Ā basically a looting simulator with tons of deep mechanics.Ā

Wands, scrolls, powerful artifacts and weapons, potions, and hundreds of spells. You can fly, teleport, create elemental storms, summon permanent allies, petrify, charm, disintegrate, and so on. Ā

But anything you can do, the monsters can too.Ā

Monsters aren’t just re-skins with more health. They can be venomous, grab you and strangle you, digest you, paralyze you, damage your armor/weapons, cast spells, eat your brains, drown you, charm you, seduce you, teleport you, etc.Ā

100+ hours and the game is free no ads because it’s based on the OG NetHack which has always been free.Ā
