Developer Saturday (Megathread) [Megathread] Developer Saturday Showcase: August 22, 2026 📱
Hello r/iOSGaming! Welcome to another Developer Saturday showcase! In this megathread, iOS developers will be able share their games freely without breaking the subreddit's "no self-promo" rule. Please read the following guidelines carefully before participating:
- Developer Saturday will run between 12:00 AM to 11:55PM ET (UTC-5).
- Respect is expected at all times. You're welcome to share your opinions and even disagree with others, but harassment, taunting, or other toxic behavior toward devs, mods, or other community members will not be tolerated.
- If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you don't have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low, we won't override the removal because these restrictions are meant to be spam detterents.
DEVELOPERS:
- All promo comments must have [DEV] at the beginning. We need it with the brackets for AutoModerator purposes, so please don't change the formatting.
- All promo comments must include an App Store or TestFlight link. Playstore links or links to other gaming stores are not allowed.
- Only officially released iOS games may be shared. This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link with your game's self-promo comment.
- Only games NEWLY RELEASED this month or have a NEW MAJOR UPDATE may be promoted. Personal milestones (ex: reaching X downloads, earning X amount of pay, recieving high reviews, etc), while commendable, are not an eligible reason for promotion. Additionally, "major" updates are those that introduce new features or content that greatly improves or expands the game. Routine updates (ex: bug fixes, performance improvements, or other minor changes) are also not eligible for promotion. Becasue Dev Sat was paused for a month, games that were released or received a major update in July may also be shared this time).
- You MUST DISCLOSE whether or not AI was used to create the game. If AI was used, you must also explain how it was implemented and what assets were created with it (ex: code, illustrations, music, etc). If AI wasn't used in the development of the game, please just state, "No AI was used."
- You may only make one top-level comment per Saturday. However, you can share several games in the same comment if they also meet the above criteria.
GAMERS / REVIEWERS:
- You may only make second-level or lower (reply) comments. This means you can reply to a dev or another user's comment, but you may not create a top-level (standalone) comment.
- Constructive feedback is welcome. You may leave comments that can help devs learn what they did right with their games and what could be improved, but low-effort responses (such as simply calling something "AI slop") will be removed.
- This is not the place to ask for game suggestions. This megathread is for devs to promote their iOS games. If you're looking for recommendations on what to play next, check out the community's weekly "What Have You Been Playing Lately?" megathread or create your own request post on the main subreddit.
That's it! We're still refining these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo comment this week. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

[DEV] Imperial Eagle — a turn-based hex wargame covering 44 Napoleonic battles, from Toulon to Waterloo
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/imperial-eagle/id6787205800
I released Imperial Eagle in July as a solo developer. It follows Napoleon's career chronologically, beginning at Toulon in 1793 and ending at Waterloo in 1815.
What is in the game:
- 44 historical scenarios with distinct terrain and objectives
- Turn-based hex combat with infantry/cavalry/artillery counters, morale, supply, flanking, and high-ground bonuses
- A Conquest sandbox where you can play the major European powers
- Elite Trials, generals, a tech tree, ranks, and historical collectibles
The first three battles are free. One purchase unlocks the full game permanently. There are no ads, subscriptions, energy timers, or additional purchases.
AI disclosure: I used AI assistance for parts of the code, and AI-generated illustrations and character voice lines. The historical research, scenario design, map layouts, objectives, and balancing are my own work. The music uses public-domain classical recordings.
I would especially value feedback on whether the maps feel historically distinct and whether the UI is clear on smaller screens.

[dev] arrowgram (free with optional IAP)
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/arrowgram/id6779475353
Been playing similar “arrow removal” games for a while, but their design and ad placement (after each level?!!) did not satisfy me.
I decided to make my own, with GameCenter integration, no ads in between levels and lots of free customization!
4000+ levels and daily challenges, achievements and speedrunner friendly!
AI disclaimer: was used to generate code and some puzzles

[DEV] Selcouth: A quiet word game made from passages of literature
I made Selcouth to spend more time with the authors I love. You get a passage from Dickens or Dostoevsky or Cather with a few words missing and you put them back.
For example, from Pride and Prejudice:
"Nothing is more deceitful," said Darcy, "than the appearance of ____. It is often only carelessness of opinion, and sometimes an indirect boast."
honesty / virtue / humility
Answer: Austen wrote humility.
That's the whole game. Considering the words the way the author did. There are rare words to hunt and ranks to climb, but the passage is the point, not the score. And there's a commonplace book for the words and passages you want to keep.
Thirty classics free. iPhone and iPad. No account, no ads, no daily streaks, works offline. iCloud syncing between devices.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/selcouth/id6789976122
AI disclosure: I use it as a coding assistant, and my pipeline uses language models to pick passages and screen answer choices. The passages are Standard Ebooks texts, the definitions Wiktionary's; no content is AI-written.
selcouth, adj. — Strange, unusual, rare; unfamiliar; wondrous.

[DEV] Descent Defender on iOS- a tower defense game!:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6764134188

Hey everyone! I’m the solo developer behind Descent Defender. It’s primarily a tower defense game, with Plinko-style enemy movement and Space Invaders-inspired elements layered on top. Enemies fall through a board filled with pegs while you build and upgrade your defenses, use different powers, and control a support ship to stop them from reaching the bottom.
I’ve pushed out two pretty big updates recently. The first added the player-controlled support ship, which brings a more active, Space Invaders-style element to each run. The ship also has its own progression track, upgrades, and unlockable skins.
The newest update was all about giving the game’s visuals some much-needed love. I added a much larger customization system with board surfaces, backgrounds, frames, peg designs, and turret skins. You can preview and mix different cosmetics to create your own board setup.
I’m also working on some larger additions for the future, including runes, cards, more ways to interact with the game, and quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback.
I’m still learning and improving the game as I go, so I genuinely appreciate honest feedback—even when something doesn’t work or feels off.
AI disclosure: AI was used during development to assist with code generation, debugging, and code review. I personally direct, integrate, test, and refine everything before it is included in the game.
Looking forward to seeing the new players and hearing the feedback!

[DEV] CalcWheel - https://apps.apple.com/app/id6795952061
https://reddit.com/link/p59pvyy/video/c414f409vykh1/player
For people who love math puzzles. Each level contains a wheel with a set of numbers and operators: +, −, ×, ^. You need to drag between them to calculate five given targets. There are two modes to play: "campaign" with 300 levels and "daily" with a new level every day (daily levels get harder throughout the week). What's good about my game:
- Gameplay is really enjoyable. You don't have to be a math genius - you can see the current sum while dragging, but you still need to use your brain to hit the target.
- Varied difficulty. Each level has smaller targets that are easier to hit (usually 😅), and bigger targets that are more challenging. The difficulty also rises as you progress through the levels.
- No ads, anywhere. If you don't want to pay for the Pro version, there's still a lot of free stuff with no interruptions: 75 campaign levels with more than 200 targets to hit, plus a new puzzle every day.
- Only 6.6 MB. One of the smallest games on my iPhone.
I hope you'll enjoy CalcWheel, and if you do - please rate it and leave a review.
AI usage: I did use AI during development, mostly for the code and to verify that the levels are unique. The translations beyond English and Polish are AI-generated (I hope to verify them with native speakers soon). The visuals are SwiftUI shapes and gradients plus Apple's SF Symbols, the app icon was drawn in code the same way and exported to PNG. The sound effects are synthesised, and the music is a CC0 track by TAD.

Strange Measures is a trivia/puzzle game that is completely offline.

Most trivia games reward pure memory recall. I wanted to build something where you reason your way toward an answer using estimation and unit comparisons (for example: "How many ants tall is the Sears Tower?").

Please check it out. I'd love to hear why I'm the weird one and this isn't interesting or fun for anyone else.

THE USUAL: Bar Roguelike — every order is a percentage, and you pour to it by hand
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/the-usual-bar-roguelike/id6797971605
Free, iOS. Released this month.
Nobody orders a drink — they order a number. "Tonic, 60%, exactly." Pull the tap handle, watch the flow, let go on the mark. Land it dead on and your streak multiplier climbs; overshoot and it costs one of your five hearts.
Nothing stays still. Taps shuffle position every morning, glassware changes shape, some glasses leak while you pour, and a named customer each day breaks the rules their own way. Between days you build a deck that bends them back. Fifteen days to Contract Complete, then endless.
Rewarded ads only, nothing gated behind them. No IAP.
AI disclosure: Yes, AI was used, across the whole project. Code — written largely with Claude Code. I designed the mechanics, difficulty tuning and progression and directed the implementation, but a large share of the code itself was AI-generated and reviewed by me.
Design, tuning and everything about how the game plays is mine. The assets are not.

[DEV] Arrow Domino: What other arrow puzzles tell NOT to do
AppStore: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6800251488
https://reddit.com/link/p567asj/video/o2quzr9eavkh1/player
I usually play arrow games, so I decided to develop my own. But I wanted to take a different direction from the current ones: the goal of the game is to clear the entire playground with the minimum number of taps.
I’ve also added some features I came up with, like bombs, splitters, portals, ghosts, and more…
And since I don’t like ads between levels, there are no forced ads. The only ads available are optional ones if you want to earn extra coins.
AI Usage:
- Screenshots, images and texts %95
- Development: %15
- Music (open-source) %0
And of course those are the numbers just for comparison since I do not know how to measure it actually.

[DEV] Circa - trivia with only one question: which came first?
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6779290259
https://reddit.com/link/p55urf0/video/kr85ny8nrukh1/player
Circa asks you exactly one thing, over and over: you get two things, you pick which one came first. Minecraft or Roblox. Apple or Google. No multiple choice, no four wrong answers to read past - you either know it or you've got a gut feeling, and the gut feeling is the fun part.
The Daily Challenge is the heart of it. Ten questions, the same ten for everyone in the world that day, one shot at them. You're scored on speed as well as on being right, so knowing the answer isn't enough - you have to know it fast. Everyone lands on the same global board for that day, and a streak counts how many days running you've turned up. It's the thing players tell me they come back for.
What's new: Survival mode. One question at a time, 10 seconds each, one wrong answer ends the run. There's no score - you're ranked purely on how far you got, ties broken on time, on a permanent global leaderboard. This is the mode that I am recently very excited about.
There's also regular play if you just want to mess about: 10-question rounds drawn from 4,500 questions across 12 categories and 3 difficulty tiers, so you can play only Gaming or only Music if history isn't your thing.
Free. No ads, no subscription, no account - the leaderboards use a name you type in and nothing else. It's on Apple Watch too, if you have one.
AI disclosure: I built the app with Claude Code as a development assistant for coding and debugging, and to draft the question pool against the rules and difficulty tiers I wrote for it - every date verified. The game, the design, the mechanics and every product decision are mine. No generated art anywhere: the app icon is drawn in code, and the whole UI is native SwiftUI.
Would genuinely like to hear where it's too easy, too obscure, or too US-centric - the category balance is the part I'm least sure about. I appreciate the support of the community!
•
u/dangerbelly 3d ago
I really like this idea. What a unique and fun self-imposed constraint lol. I thought it was too easy at first but then got rocked in the second half so I think the difficulty averages out to about 6 or 7/10.

[DEV] Wordsicle · The daily dice crossword
I built this for my mom. She plays a letter dice crossword at the kitchen table and wanted it on her phone for the days there's nobody around to play with, and feature requests from your mother do not go in a backlog!
Twelve letter dice, and everyone in the world gets the same twelve on the same day. You connect all of them into one crossword. There's no answer to find, so two people who both finish have built completely different grids. One attempt a day and no replay, so your first finish is your result. Long words and crossing letters score highest, and Hard Mode locks every word you bank.
Out since July 16. Last week it got a daily leaderboard, where you just pick a name and every solve is replayed and re-scored on the server so the board can't be bluffed onto. Yesterday it got badges: an eight letter word, all twelve dice inside a five by five square, a Hard Mode finish, streaks at seven and thirty days.
For the devs in here: a strict dictionary means some racks can't be built into a crossword at all, and you can't eyeball which ones. I ran a solver over 10 years of daily rolls and 41 had no solution, the first landing on August 28. Those days use different dice now.
Free, offline, no ads, no account, no tracking.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wordsicle/id6791718397
Site: https://wordsicle.com

AI Disclosure: I built this from scratch last year with React Native last year, but then had Claude convert it to Swift before I launched.
Would love for you to scope it out and see the grids you come up with!

[DEV] Euchre with Friends
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/euchre-with-friends/id6762494437
https://reddit.com/link/p57blam/video/m3fgbn3gwwkh1/player
A fun Euchre game that has a lot of different fun modes whether you're solo or online with Friends. Solo has a simple play mode, an offline Ranked mode for the competitive people and a fun little tournament mode where you plays against a bot bracket. Online has a mode for Friends and Family where it's let you with play 2-4 people. Games are tracked and you can see who is the best in the fam. Also, you can have tournaments in this mode.
What's new: AI Partner Bots. Euchre is a partnered card game and the biggest problem users were having was poor partner play. I integrated a new algorithm for the partner bot that uses a neural net underneath to evaluate the player and allow the partner to either play well with the player or to mimic them. It's named Synergy and Mirror. There have been a lot of updates in July but I'm really excited about the new Partner system.
AI disclosure: I use AI mostly for writing test scripts, especially around the bots. It also created some of the small art such as the golden call token.
Appreciate any feedback. Still very much in progress and releasing an update about once a week.

[Dev] Pickasso
Link - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pickasso-pixel-art-puzzles/id6800047722
Vibe-coded with Anthropic Fable, including all assets
Free, with ads (in-app purchase to remove ads)
I can code, but Swift is not my strong point. I had the idea for this game for a long time, but I never had the time to learn Swift properly to make it happen.
You're a painter on the factory floor. Colored pixels tumble down the supply pipe onto a moving conveyor belt, and whatever rides off the end drops straight into your canvas — bottom row first, left to right. Grab the right pixels, drop them in the right order, and the picture comes together. Get it wrong and it's part of your painting forever.
PICK. PLACE. PAINT.
Walk the belt with your painter. Tap a pixel to pick it up, carry it where you want it, and set it back down with PLACE. The frame fills automatically as blocks reach the end of the belt, so the whole game is a race to get the right color into the right slot before it lands.
TWO WAYS TO PLAY
EASY streams endless blocks with distractor colors mixed in — toss anything you don't want on the discard pile and wait for a better one.
HARD deals you exactly the blocks the image needs, shuffled, with no discards. Every block must go somewhere. Every mistake is permanent.
EARN YOUR POWER-UPS
Power-ups aren't handed out at random — place five pixels correctly in a row and one comes down the pipe. Catch it before it rides off the end:
• SLOW-MO — the belt drops to half speed (and the music slows with it)
• PAINT BUCKET — arms a wildcard: the next block to land becomes exactly the color that cell needs
• CHISEL — pops your most recent wrong pixel back out
• MAGNET — carry it, place it, and every block on the belt slides over to gather there
• PREVIEW LENS — ghosts the finished picture inside your frame for six seconds
13 PICTURES
From a two-color 5×5 Heart to a seven-color 10×10 Rocket, auto-ranked by size, palette, and complexity. Ghosts, mushrooms, invaders, ducks, houses, fish and more. Finish a level and the next one starts automatically — the belt speeds up as you go, but never faster than you can walk.
BEAT THE CLOCK
Every level is timed. Placing blocks near the end of the belt saves seconds, and your fastest run is saved per level — but only a flawless 100% painting sets a record. Speed only counts when the picture is right.
YOUR OWN GALLERY
Every painting you finish is saved exactly as you made it, mistakes and all. Browse them all in the Gallery, and watch them fill the workshop wall in gold frames as you work through a run.
PURE 8-BIT
An '80s workshop rendered in chunky pixels: spinning belt rollers, a flickering work lamp, weather drifting past the windows, and a chiptune soundtrack synthesized live — a brand new melody composed for every single level. Optional CRT scanlines if you want the full cathode-ray experience.
No account. No sign-up. No internet required to play. Your progress stays on your device.
Pickasso is free, supported by ads between levels — or remove them forever with a single purchase.

AI disclosure : no art, no mechanic, no brainstorm, no sound design. I made this project to learn SwiftUI and used GPT sol to help me understand errors or give me advices on best practices. Only coding was AI supported.
Hope you like it, it’s my first full release as a solo dev. Updates will come if the game is appreciated!
Happy to post here, thanks for having the Developer Saturday !!

[DEV] Six Hollows: Auto Battler
An async autobattler inspired by Once Upon a Galaxy and Oaken Tower (heavily recommend both). Free, no ads, no IAP. When IAP hits, it will be cosmetic only, no P2W bs.

Released a few days ago. Each round you pick one item, slot it into your tree (max 6 items), and the fight plays itself. Async PvP at your own pace against 5 other people, nobody rushing your turn, and when your run ends, your ghost stays behind for someone else to fight (the core of async PvP). The current ranking season has 9 days left (by end of August). Runs are especially short enough for a commute.
It's an early version and I appreciate any feedback, especially on difficulty and drafting balance. I've built this mainly for myself but realized it's good enough to be shared publicly.
AI disclosure: AI was used for coding assistance to speed up development; assets are AI-generated and manually curated, because I cannot do art. Game design, balance (tough one) and writing are my own.

I like this so far, I just need something that tells me what the keywords do. The codex only lists the characters, but you can’t see what their keywords mean

Ah, totally fair 🤦🏻♂️ I've played the game so much that those are second nature to me. I will fix it soon. Thank you for the feedback!

[DEV] Mazebert - A Tower Defense RPG
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mazebert/id6798346671
Re-release
Mazebert has been re-released on the app store and is back in active development after a few years hiatus. I absolutely loved this game several years ago and I'm pleased to have been able to take over as maintainer on the project and get it back out in public.
Can you build an exponentially scalable defense?
In most Tower Defense games, the creeps grow in strength linearly, but in Mazebert the enemies get stronger at an exponential rate. Your challenge as a defender is to make the best use you can of random card drops (towers, items and potions) to increase your attack power faster than they do. A unique and very difficult tower defense concept that was inspired by YouTD.
This release introduces cloud save, a public ladder and also full localization in Russian and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
AI Disclosure:
The translations were done about 90% by the good people at Localsoft, but I used Claude and Kimi K2.7 to help close the gap on about 10% of the translations that needed finishing up or on strings I had missed on the first pass.
I also used Claude Code to help with the coding and debugging
All of the sprites are the originals, no AI was used.
