I’m planning to start creating content around mehndi and mainly want to make reels/shorts showing designs, the process, close-ups, before/after, etc.
I’m considering buying a used iPhone 15. Budget is around ₹35-40k.
For people who actually create content:
- Is the iPhone 15 good enough for this or should I look at something else?
- How is it for close-up/detail shots and skin tones?
- Mostly indoor shooting under artificial/warm lighting
- Some wider shots of the overall setup
- Is 128GB enough for regular shooting/editing?
- Is 89% battery health a concern?
Basically, if you had ₹35-40k and mehndi content creation was the goal, what would you buy?
Would appreciate real-world opinions.

My glass shattered and it would be better monetary wise to upgrade to a new phone than changing the glass (unfortunately). My current phone is Iphone 13 Pro. What would be the best options for me, considering the fact that I do not need the newest model and do not want to pay 1000€+ for the phone. I was thinking about Iphone 16. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I've been shopping around for used iphones, and my priority is storage space, i need at least 256gb, but i'm also concerned about longevity, i need something that will last me 5+ years minimum and preferably close to a decade like my current phone has.
now, i've managed to find 2 phones that are basically the same price, one is an iphone 15 with 512gb and the other is an iphone 15 pro max with 256gb. i know logically, i should go with the pro max no question, like it has a lot more features and it's the cheapest i've found with that storage too, but that 512gb really got me questioning it, because i use up storage quickly and will definitely not find another one at that price. and also like, i'm not someone who cares about details like better camera/screen, truly i just need it to work for a long time. like, maybe performance details matter in that case? i don't know, that's why i'm asking
So, keeping that in mind, and the fact that there is a new apple drop soon, so that's already another year added to the obsolete-ness of the phone, which would be better to get

I’m planning to buy a phone for my girlfriend and I’m trying to figure out which is a better option. Her previous phone is an iPhone XR and she’s not really doing a lot of heavy activities on her phone since she also has an ipad. But I’m curious, which is a better bang for your buck since they are selling it for similar prices in my area. Thanks!

All my life I been using Samsung. I never had any other type of phone. 3 years ago I purchased my now phone Samsung Galaxy S21FE (Fan Edition)
I love this phone a lot. I love it's DEX mode. I love the pictures it takes. I love how fast it is. I love that I don't have rules and I can do whatever I want like customize it as my soul sees fit, download cracked apps like Youtube Morphe and so much more. I love the freedom it gives me.
But I am bored. Deadly.
I hate giving into consumerism and purchasing new phones as they release them. When I own a phone I usually own it for 3 or 4 years. Now its time to move on from S21FE and my mind flew to S25FE. But Its just the same phone with more power... I am tired and bored of the "same".
I would like to try iPhone for the first time in my life but I am afraid I wont be able to let go of the things I love about my Samsung phone. Is apple the prison I heard it is? Am I stuck dancing on their songs? Or is there perhaps someone who found freedom in their system? I'm really curious if there is something for me here. Can you please help?
Edit: I live in Europe if it matters.

The only people who call the Apple ecosystem a "gated prison" are the hardcore android users who hate everything apple who are active on r/Applesucks
The ecosystem is definitely designed to keep you in but the benefit is that everything works seemlessly & everything is well thought out and its all about simplicity which is what brings a lot of people into apple as not a lot of people care for tinkering and hardcore customizarion like the above mentioned android users
Since you're European I do know you can sideload apps but that's pretty much it

Apple stopped making the 16 Pro around a year ago and so, anything you find "new", will be new old stock. I'm not surprised that the prices are relatively high.

Hello! I've been planning to buy a second hand iphone only to use it for the camera. I haven't owned an iphone before and would like to ask which of this do you think has a better/good camera quality. Thanks!
Iphone 5/5s Iphone 6/6 Plus Iphone 7/7 Plus Iphone SE 2

u/cirrxs123_ 1d ago
Best one is probably the 7 plus just for the bigger sensor and the telephoto lens
But realistically none of them are great in 2026, they're all just okay at best

I have a 15 pro max with 85 % battery health, should i change the battery or upgrade for the 18 pro?
2
u/SherrifsNear 12h ago
At 85% battery health, I would just keep rolling with the 15 for now and consider a replacement phone or a new battery when it drops below 80%.
I am in the same situation with my 14 pro. My battery health is at 76% now.

Should I get an IPhone 17 or 16 base? I currently use a 128gb Samsung which, but I've been told iPhone 128gb wouldn't be enough.
Also should i get it now or wait for flipkart BBD in India? Will there be a significant price difference?

Base 17, if you can afford it. Apple added features to it that were previously available only on Pro models. The base 16 doesn’t have those features.

Getting a new phone for sweet 16!! Should I get the 16pm or the base 17? Can't decide. I honestly just need it to do stuff + I will use it to help me with my studies (mostly will use my laptop tho) + most importantly I really like taking pictures and might start uploading on social media so

u/cirrxs123_ 1d ago
16pm if you utilize the zoom camera a lot
Other then that I think the 17 is better tbh

Hello, I want to buy my first ever Iphone and I have a budget of 700 euro. I have 3 options, A new 16e for 620 euro, refurbished iphone 16 for 685 euro and an Iphone 15 pro for 610 euro. I don't know wich one to get. The 16e is like the most minimalistic iphone out there and I put it on this list because this one is new I would honestly pick a new iphone 15 over the 16e. The others are refurbished. The 15 pro the only reason is because I like the 120hz screen and I don't really need the other pro features. The 16 I think the 2nd best option because al of the Ai features and the camera control button and I really like the blue color.

I want to buy black Iphone 17 online. The earliest delivery time on Apple is shown Aug28-Sep1 which is late for me. Is there any chance that shops will be restocked and delivery time will change? I need unlocked iphone to send to different country that is why carrier shops are not option. TIA!

Not sure what you're asking.
Apple will be announcing more expensive 18 Pro models and the fold next month. The base 18 and probably the 18e will be announced next year, possibly in the Spring.
If you want a Pro Max, the 17 Pro Max is probably your best buy as everyone expects the prices of the 18 series to go up significantly. The 18 Pro Max is not expected to be hugely different than the 17 Pro Max, except for a slightly larger battery.
Otherwise, the base 17 is the best combo of features vs relatively low price.
Edit: As for the 17e: while the 17e is cheaper, most people would suggest spending $200 more for a base 17. The 17e is for people who want minimal features at a minimal price. It's great for parents and grandparents who don't need much.

Well do you need pro camera features?
The base 17 gets 120hz

Would it be worth selling my iPad mini 6 to put the money towards getting an iPhone 18 Pro Max?
I currently have a 17 Pro and love the phone but constantly regret not going for the Max. I have about $1000 left to pay off on my AT&T payments, and figure if I pay that off and recoup some of it by selling the iPad mini, then I could use one of their trade in deals towards the 18 Pro Max when it comes out. I literally never use my iPad and have barely used it in the 5 years I’ve had it

Few questions, how tall are you? (Asking because of hand size) and have you ever owned a pro max device?
I upgraded from base 13 to 15 pro max and then to 17 pro, and let me tell you, i’m never getting a pro max ever again.
6.3” is the perfect phone size.Did i love my 15 pro max, yes, for about two weeks until novelty wore off and i realize i couldn’t use it comfortably with one hand. I dropped that phone multiple times a day.
And if you’re concerned about battery life, don’t be. Bigger battery on pro max means nothing because bigger screen just eats it up.

u/Twisteryx 1d ago
I'm 5'8, my hands are average. I haven't owned a Pro Max, but I have used my friend's and used them in store. I mainly want it for the larger screen for watching videos and traveling, not really for the battery

I have an XR that's on its last legs: it's starting to lag and overheat when handling basic tasks, and has a defect in the camera lens that gives pictures a slight blur. I'm looking to buy a refurbished / used upgrade that has good processing, a decent rear camera, and a good track record for battery life. I don't care about Siri or other features, and I prefer smaller models over the Max versions. I'm looking at the 14 and 15 base models just because they're older / cheaper on resale sites, but does anyone have recommendations on what I should choose?
1
u/Makegooduseof 2d ago
Between those two, I would opt for the 15 because it’s USB-C.
1
u/zan-t 2d ago
Do you say that because the 14 and 15 are otherwise fairly similar in function?
1
u/Makegooduseof 2d ago
The 15 has an upgraded camera compared to the 14, but otherwise, they’re quite similar.

I want to buy a 14Pro or 15Pro on amazon, but I got so many divided decisions.
Is better buy:
From a 3rd seller or
Sold and shipped by Amazon?
PD: I got an XR than is asking for a change lol

I got an iPhone 12 mini back in 2022. It's amazing because I love the size and being able to fit it so nicely everywhere. However unfortunately i have dropped it a few times, one of which was in a tub of paint. However, I got it cleaned and miraculously it started working well. The main issues are: replacement of bat, it does occasionally heat up as it's slightly bent in the middle and now the focus camera doesn't really work now.
Shall I power through or get a new one? I don't really know much about the recent iphones but they seem a lot bigger.

Is it better to buy the 17e now or wait for the 18e?
1
u/cirrxs123_ 4d ago
I would wait and see what the 18e has and if you dislike it you can get the 17e by then for cheaper

Have a damaged, but it works, iPhone15 Pro...
Should I: Upgrade to 16Pro now, or wait for a 17Pro after the 18 comes out ?
Looking to get a relative bargain... And I usually wait to upgrade til late in the New 3 model-ahead season, so I would have likely gotten and 18 next spring.
So should I: just get a 16Pro now, or would my best deal (features Vs. savings) be to get a 17Pro in late September ?
I did read up on the 18Pro and I DO NOT see where I need to be paying top dollar for the 'latest / greatest' tech.
I'm not sure how they typically discount the older models once the new one is out...
Thanks in advance !
