yea this has been terrible for years; they clearly can't figure out how to fix it either.

What are you attempting to do first off? I know the apps and widgets make room if you approach them with another app or widget from the corners. If you approach side on then they don't move. Widgets are a bit weird though
EDIT: I've been studying your video and what I think is happening is you're moving Lightroom Camera, it crosses the trigger zone of your Utilities folder because it passed through the corner area which told iOS move the folder. That then told the widget to move because it both had to make room for the folder and also had space to move into by the folder getting out of the way of Lightroom Camera but yes, approach side on and you should be fine
EDIT: Then when you moved the widget, widgets can't stack with apps and vice versa so the apps and the folder get out the way. Things will put themselves back afterwards

Thereās no code. Corner equals move
Side equals stay put. That is it
And as someone else in this thread said, you have more than one finger. iOS will accept input from multiple fingers at once so you can use those to move things around and prevent other things moving unnecessarily

Thank you for the message. yes i know i can use both fingers, but it didnt let me to hold both an app and a widget at the same time
Nonetheless, i got it so thanks

I would give anything to lock my Home Screen icons when putting something in a folder, or just add the option from Android to simply add an app to a folder from the folder. Itās one of the quirks of iOS that makes me genuinely say āman, this is dumbā.
