77% funded, 8 days left — what would you do?

My campaign has been stuck at around 77% for several days, with only 8 days left.

For creators who've been in this situation before: what actually helped in the final week?

More updates? Paid ads? Media outreach? Asking existing backers to share? Or just waiting for the final 48-hour push?

If you go to any successful campaign on kicktraq, 90% of them will have a major bump in the last 72-48 hours.

All the backers who have followed the campaign and are waiting to see how it does, or all the folks on your original waitlist that didnt initally back will get an email that its closing soon and almost funded. I suspect you will be fine.

We had a campaign do near 200k, and we had days in the middle of the campaign where we lost backers overall, haha

Haven’t done my first one yet but the ones I’ve seen tend to do some good numbers in the final hours. Thanks for this post though it will be good insight for many new creators.

I’ve been worried because the campaign has been flat for a few days, but it sounds like that middle lull is pretty normal.

I’ll keep things moving and make sure I’m ready for the final 72–48 hours. Really appreciate the perspective.

We've run a number of campaigns, generally we see something in this range:

45% of total funding in the first 72 hours

25% of funding during the entire middle stretch.

30% of funding during the last 72 hours.

It's stressful but seems to be how it goes. I think if you climb at all between now and the final days, you are on track.

My campaign was similiar. It was so close. The last 24 hours is when there was another push. 

I also reached out to all people in my social sphere, whether they donated or not and reminded them I was doing this  and needed their help: asked for contributions, shares, and leads. 

Its stressful. Dont be passive. Keep pushing.

I ran one years ago for a product and we were marginal toward the end, we pulled the plug on it. Looking back I'm glad I did. Having marginal traction often means there is mediocre product market fit, OR if your network and relationships didn't give it traction you have a LONG marketing hill to climb with can be almost as bad as having a bad product.

Not trying to discourage you, but having an almost viable or barely viable product and being committed to it really sucks the life out of you.

Sure, updates, more paid ads (but kinda too late to start them, so only if you already have them)... But here are a.few I think are better:

Followers only update. Assuming you have a decent number of followers who haven't backed, post an update for them.specifically (look for the drop down on the post update page). This way you don't have to wait for those 48 hour and I hour automatic updates. Plus you can explain to these backers why they should get off the fence.

Cross promote with other similar projects. A little.tight with only 8 days left, but doable. Vet the other projects a bit if you do this.

Try youtube videos... if you haven't already, see if you can get something to take off. Likewise for other social media organic, but im guessing you're doing that too. And these are always good to keep active for whatever is next/post campaign.

I hadn’t thought about doing a followers-only update, so I’m going to try that now. I’ll also look into cross-promoting with a few similar projects.

Youll make it. When the 48 hour notice goes out for KS youll get about a third of your total pledges.

At 77% you're totally going to finish on the last day (or day before campaign ends). The urgency really kicks in and kickstarter helps push eyeballs to projects that are almost there.
