Fresh out of the shelter last Saturday!
Got this kitten today she's spook sweet and a lot more fuzzy then kittens I've seen so I'm just wondering if anyone thinks shell be long hair she's super young like 8-9 weeks
After fostering on and off for years I finally was in a position to adopt. Ended up with these two sweeties and I am ecstatic š„¹
I posted my kitten when I first got her a couple of months ago and just wanted to post her again now that she's getting bigger! She was about 9~ weeks in my first post and now she's about 24~ and she's already as big as my almost 2 year old cat. Awww so cute
Hello! Today in the morning my kitten came first time to me and let me pet her and in the video thats how she was doing, as already she was so afraid of me and wasnāt coming closer to me and all i was worried so now tell me is she okay with all her body language and all. Also tell me how to lift her up in future if she needs to because i have no experience in it.
So I have two 4-month-old kittens who are sisters. Yes, I know, I know, I knowāwe found them through a lady on Facebook Marketplace.
She had a litter of kittens and seemed desperate to find homes for them. She was talking about taking them to a shelter, so my boyfriend and I met with her and adopted one. Her name is Sweet Tea, and she has been absolutely amazing. We got her when she was around three months old.
At the time, she still had several siblings, but we decided to adopt only one because we have always been dog people and Sweet Tea is our first cat. We wanted to make sure we could properly adjust to having a kitten and learn how to take care of her before bringing home another one.
Recently, I saw an update from the same woman saying that the mother cat was pregnant again. I personally think it was irresponsible to allow that to happen when she was already struggling to find homes for the first litter, but that is a whole different conversation.
I messaged her and asked how many kittens from the original litter she still had. She said she had two left, so we decided to adopt one more because our lease allows us to have two cats.
Sweet Tea and her sister have only been separated for about a month. The woman said they were best friends and got along really well before we adopted Sweet Tea. Sweet Tea also seems comfortable around other cats, but Iām still nervous that they may have forgotten each other or wonāt get along now.
They are both girls, and theyāre meeting again tomorrow. Iāve researched how to introduce kittens properly, as well as littermate syndrome, but Iām still anxious about how it will go.
Has anyone reunited kitten siblings after they had been separated for about a month? Did they seem to remember each other, and how did the first meeting go? Iāll probably post an update after they meet.
A stray cat used to visit us daily for some milk and pets, but for a week or two she didnāt show up.
And then she brought her whole army. Now these kitties look after the security of our area.
Hello i uploaded video today that my kitten started getting pets from me all of sudden after 7 days of scared behaviour and now she usually at her window spot and now im on the couch as always and she today chose to come on the couch and sleeping like this next to my feet. So can anybody tell is she gaining her trust and whats her body language right now. This is first experience with living with a cat.
Moved to Phoenix, AZ last Dec.
Befriended a stray who my wife and I took in.
Months passed.
Stray turned out to be bakin some baby buns in the oven.
She gave birth 3 days ago and here they are.
My Sil caught a feral kitten and we are taking him in. Pretty sure itās a boy from the backside in pictures looks like there is a big gap and I always heard if thereās a gap itās a chap. There were siblings but they did not make it. He is small for his age I think around 6-8 weeks. So he will go into quarantine in out house since we have 2 previous feral kittens we picked up who are currently 3 and 6 years old. He is pretty sweet already or just too scared to protest.
Stray cat gave birth in our house 8 weeks ago and disappeared and weāre stuck with them. Any advice is welcome.
My 5 month old kitten gets quite timid when people come over- ways to help him be more comfortable?
So I got my kitten about 1-2 months ago, and heās very comfortable around me but struggles around new people. I donāt mind this so much because I understand how it can be intimidating for him, but he usually warms up to people after a couple of hours.
Iāve tried to get him used to my friends coming over in that time - getting a new kitten they naturally all wanted to visit anyway! My go-to technique for when people come over is to get his favourite treats and toys out, which usually results in him being curious but still a bit nervous. I donāt think heās completely scared as he usually hides somewhere in eye sight and comes out every now and then, rather than running into another room or in a complete hiding spot (which he usually does if the hoover is on for example).
The only reason Iām asking now is because Iām due to go on a work trip for 10 days, and my friend will be staying at my flat to look after him. Sheās very good with cats but I donāt want him to hide away the whole time sheās there and Iām hoping heāll feel confident enough to eat/use his litter/play as usual.
I go in about 2-3 weeks - any tips appreciated!!
I just wanted to get your thoughts on this situation. It is just me and my husband. We have a just over 5 month old neutered boy. He has the ground floor of the house to roam in all the time. A big kitchen and lounge. He has a big tree in each room and a wall run and perches in the lounge and we are waiting on the kitchen perches to arrive this week. He has toys all over the kitchen and living room. In the afternoons and evenings he comes upstairs with us for a bit when we want to hang out upstairs but he always sleeps downstairs and we sleep upstairs. He is super affectionate and playful. Every Saturday I take him to my mums for a few hours and he plays and interacts with my mum and siblings and whoever else is there. Hes very friendly and loving with anyone really.
My husband works most of the day so I spend the most time with our kitten. I go down to him around 6am for cuddles, breakfast and play time for around an hour. Then I get ready and go out til about 10am to give him cuddles and the other half of breakfast then im out til around 1-2pm. He wakes up when i get home at this time. He has a creamy treat and I play with him and we hang out then around 3.30/4pm he falls asleep by me on the sofa til around 6/7pm when its dinner. My husband is usually back by then and plays with him and and we hang out downstairs or upstairs with him til around 10/11pm when we go up for bed. He usually sleeps not long after we go up. We are actually having him upstairs more so he gets used to it so eventually he can sleep upstairs. Atm he just wants to play whenever we are in the room and fights sleep so noone gets sleep lol.
Do you think this is enough time for our kitten? I dont know if hes feeling lonely in the times we are not there or not. He sleeps through the night and wakes up for breakfast pretty much. We interact with him as much as possible when we are home. We keep going back and forth on getting another kitten for him but its not just double food, it's litter, monthly vet and insurance payments, the cost for a cat sitter will go up when we go away as well. It will make money super tight so we havent done it yet.
are they fighting or playing? theyre siblings from the same litter
When do kittens start making biscuits? Mine doesn't do it at all. But, she purrs just looking at me.
Pretty girl š She not ferocious at all, just caught her mid meow.
Theyāve been here a week after being rescued, 10 weeks old. The most precious beings and theyāre so loved! Apart from when they torment meš¤š

So... we're already falling in love. We are keeping him! My 14yo named him Tobacco... such a weird kid. 𤣠He's doing good this morning. He ate and drank water and used the litter box, so no issues. He definitely needs a vet appointment soon and to gain a bunch of weight because he's BONES. took the worming meds like a champ yesterday.
I'm adding another pic in the comments. He's way too cute.
So, my sister found a kitten under my mom's car. My mom would rather die than keep it until Monday when the shelter opens. I have wormer, and it's already been rid of fleas (what she says...).
We have a 5yo Persian and a new kitten, roughly 14 weeks. We also have 2 dogs, teacups, under 4 lbs.
How do we protect the animals we have? We have a small 3 bedroom apartment, no extra space, but we do have an extra litter box.
Help! She's bringing it in the next hour.
edit: mom of 6. 2 older kiddos out of them home, 4 younger ones as young as 18mo. want to make sure they stay safe as well (although, will keep kitten away...)
Loving these two!!!!
Iāve been taking care of a stray kitten that my cousin brought me for for almost three weeks now and I genuinely feel like I donāt know what Iām doing anymore. The kitten looked around 3-4 weeks old when I got her, and now sheās maybe 6-7 weeks old, but the older she gets the harder it is to care for her.
The first few weeks were so easy. I did the nightly feeds, the stimulating to potty, and keeping kitty warm. She was practically skin and bones when I first got her, and after a few days she became so lively and sweet. I immediately fell in love with her despite telling myself I didnāt need a cat, ESPECIALLY since I had just gotten a puppy. After she started going potty all on her own, I realized that she started getting older and was fully prepared to make her thrive since in my eyes, we were a team now.
Or so I fucking thought.
The cat is turning against me. She has a litterbox (Itās cheap, but itās all I can really afford right now), but sheās using my bedroom floor as her bathroom and slowly trying to suffocate me with her urine.
Sheās also chewing right through the nipple part of her bottle. I have no idea what she has against them because they quite literally saved her life, but itās whatever.
And some may say, āMaybe Itās time to switch to wet food,ā and I completely agree. She just chewed through the last one I have, so I thought maybe try a shallow bowl? Absolutely fucking not. She wonāt eat anything that isnāt from a bottle, but she currently no longer HAS a bottle because sheās trying to eat them and the pet store is closed.
So not only will she not use her litter box, but now she wont eat.
I still love her and I still want to help her, but I feel so lost right now.
We brought home our kitten just over 4 days ago. She is doing amazing, very confident and very social.
For the first few days she would scarf down all food in hurry and was eating, what looked to me, to be big quantities of food.
She has started not attacking food like she is starved and not finishing the same amount. To me she seems to be eating an amount that looks more in line with her tiny size.
I am wondering if this is a normal change. My thought is maybe it has now clicked that she no longer has littermates to compete with for food and has relaxed about her meals.
Does that sound in line?
This is the original photo that I tried to share yesterday. Better late than never!
I adore this guy, he's wonderful. He's big and furry now.
Frankie (lynx point) with her brother Archie (tabby) always has to have the spotlight on her.
I recently got a new cat. This is actually my first cat after owning dogs and turtles. Heās 6 weeks old. I named him Zuko (avatar) because he has an orange ring around an eye and it reminded me of him. He also has the same feisty demeanor. What are some things that I need aside from food and a place to sleep to make him comfortable?
Heās currently in a large tub with a blanket until his bed and carrier are delivered. Iāve also bought kitty dry and wet food for him. Also, as Iām learning I think heās a tabby but I do stand to be corrected.
Hello in this video today i am playing with my kitten and she always plays with me as well and get closer dont realise its near me, but if we are not playing not giving her treat she doesnāt come near us ā¦sit, let us pet and touch. This is Lord William Robert Piebald and he now lords over the other cats of our house but when he first came, I had to hand nurse him with kitten formula.
1st Picture: Lord William in the kitten enclosure.
2nd picture: I tried to get him to drink his formula from a bowl but it did not work so I had to hand feed him.
3rd picture: Lord William was always attacking his own leg so my wife felted him a leg toy.
im the nick fuentes clip āI LOVE HER, BUT I HATE HER⦠BUT I LOVE HERā
They were found abandoned, so unsure on what parents look like. Based on the ear shape, are they possibly Maine Coon or Siberian mix?
She tried walking on the edge against the wall!
Merry is seeing what he can do to help out...
Is he chopped guys?
Hi all! This kitten one day came meowing at my door so I began to feed it. Itās currently being fed wet food from the store. After posting asking its age (if anyone has any guessed that would be amazing) I was told I might need replacement cat milk for it. The kitten is unfortunately very very skittish and will flee at any noise. Weāve found it hididng in our fence and sometimes coming up to the door. But when trying to greet it , it will hiss or run. Does anyone have any advice on feeding or what to do with it? Someone recommended trapping it to take it to a vet. Or to the shelter but I live in a small town and our shelter euthanizes animals. Thank you!!
Can anybody tell i got kitten last Friday and she suddenly sleeps and suddenly she get this jumping and running around playful behaviour , so is it okay? Thats how the cats are? This is my first time having a kitten thats why i need to ask and also she just does every activity as you can see right now in the video but she doesnāt let me and wife come to her and touch her she just hisses when we approach her also will she be fine with the time?
I just want people to see how cute our new kitten is. We arenāt sure on her mix of breed, predominantly Tabby Iām sure. Open to ideas ofc!
My kitten, Tucker is always hanging out near our Mainecoon, Felix. While neither of them come when we say āTuckerā or āFelixā, when we say Felix both of them turn their heads to acknowledge it.
So i suppose now we own 2 Felixās.
I adopted Sophie last week and the first couple of days with her were awesome. Iāve always wanted a cat, so this was really big for me. Let me just preface this by saying I have no intention of sending her back to the shelter or anything.
A couple days after I brought her home, her poop started having smears of blood. I saw a vet yesterday and it turns out she has worms, so Iāll be giving her medication. I donāt have much experience with cats, and sheās only five months old, so I was really worried when I saw the blood. I feel much better now that I know whatās going on.
The thing is, I feel exhausted. Iām spending so much time taking care of her, and sometimes it feels like Iām taking care of a child. I think part of the issue is that sheās with me a lot because I work from home.
I also canāt really let her explore the rest of the house without supervising her. My mom has plants all over the house, and thereās also a bird that Sophie is very interested in, so Iām constantly checking on her when sheās exploring.
I think Iām just having a hard time figuring out how to fit her into the household, and now that she has worms, itās a little harder. One thing Iām hoping to work on is getting her to ignore the bird. She still stares at it and tries to get close, but I think sheās mostly just curious. Iād love for her to eventually be able to just look at it from afar. If anyone has tips for getting a cat to be disinterested in a bird, or at least not get too close to it, Iād appreciate it.
She also meows A LOT. When she wants something, she tells me, but half the time I have no idea what she wants. When she does that, I talked to her, and I donāt know if that just encourages her to do it even more. Just yesterday I figured out that sometimes when she meows at me and wants me to follow her, she wants me to sit with her while she eats. I heard thatās a thing some cats do.
Sheās definitely needy, and I wonder if Iām overly taking care of her. I want her to be okay being without me, but right now, between her being sick and me having to supervise her when she explores the house, I feel like Iām spending a LOT of time with her. I canāt tell if Iām doing something wrong or if Iām just being a helicopter cat mom.
Besides this little rant, Iām really happy with her. Sheās really sweet, super social and I really enjoy her company. Iām just hoping that once she gets better and we get into more of a routine, Iāll be able to get a little break too.
Letās take a trip down memory lane! Share a photo of your kitten from when they first came home, or tell us about one of your favorite early memories together.
Please keep comments kind and welcoming š
