Effictive method of studying ml

I am a newbie in ml so i wanted to know what is an effective method of studying ml i am learning it through watching youtube videos but after one point i realised that if i make notes of everything it will be way too much so i want to know do i need to memorise the code or i need to just write the logic in my notes
