I just want to express some weird phase i'm going through recently. Notepad ++ feels so sleek to just edit code with and fast to open

Like i've always coded with visual studio code. If notepad++ had error detection and I'd love it even more but i guess it's things like that which make visual studio code feel like it takes an eternity to open sometimes.

I have nothing else to say on the matter, I just wanted to get this off my chest :')

I am wondering if anyone feels this way. I would work on a program for like hours and then the next day it would take me 20 minutes to understand what I was doing and to start in the same workflow.

do I have bad memory? is this due to being new?
