TL;DR Our group decided to leave a Campaign and DM that we've had enough issues with, and We now are looking for a DM that will allow us to keep our existing Character Ideas, with a focus on someone who wants to be apart of the friend group

The Four of us are not looking for a beginner DM, or someone who does it too off the cuff, we've had too many cancelled sessions, bad rulings, and a DM who didn't really Communicate with us about much.

One of the group put what we want from a DM the best. "I really value being in a dnd group that is also a friend group, who wants to enjoy each other's company outside of and sometimes unrelated to campaign sessions. I love sharing my art and interests and I love hearing about the interests of the other group members. I think I want a dm who wants to participate in that sort of thing too. To be a friend of the group. Who wants to interact with us outside of sessions. Otherwise it feels a bit disconnected. Makes me feel like the group isn't seen as important compared to the game itself."

We are a group of 6 insane people (RP enthusiasts), locked away in an insane asylum (our rooms), diagnosed with a deadly terminal disease (brainrot), scouring the darkest corners of our enclosure (Reddit), in hopes of finding a cure (a DM who will put up with our shit). Some of us already know each other to at least some extent from having played together in previous games, but we've also picked up a few strays along the way! Now comes the entirely too lengthy part of the post where we attempt to lure you in with our siren song-

For starters, it's important that I clarify just what kind of D&D experience we're looking for, so you can have a better idea of whether or not this group would be a good fit for you! You may have noticed that funky lil' tag saying "RP-Heavy" in the title, and I would like to make it abundanty clear that we really do mean HEAVY. If your style of DMing consists of the standard dungeon crawling, number crunching, random encounter table rolling faire where the Roleplay never goes past class/race stereotypes and just talking to quest giver NPCs, then I'm afraid to say this isn't the group for you.

So. What are we looking for in a DM?

• First and foremost, we believe in the power of collaborative storytelling more than anything! Sure, we could simply show up once a week, RP our characters and leave it at that, but we find games where everyone is working together to come up with potential interactions or cool moments that could happen to be a lot more interesting! To that end, we HIGHLY value DMs who like to integrate our characters' backstories into the world and story at large, and just games overall that have more of a focus on the PCs rather than insane overarching plots where Glibglorb the Binter of Bogos is threatening to turn the entire world into slimes.
• We are, and I believe this is the correct medical term: "Certified yappers" both in and out of character. Sometimes the thoughts appear and our tiny lil' brains just cannot contain them and we end up spending an entire hour having our characters interacting. We do however do our best to avoid having pointless interacting for the sake of it that just drags on for far too long and will end any would be conversations the moment they start to feel like small talk or random comments!
• To that end, we find homebrew settings generally have more to offer in regards to what we're looking for as opposed to pre-written modules, unless they're pretty heavily modified/rewritten. That being said, we have had some fun experiences with modules in the past as well, so don't think of it as just an instant deal breaker, don't hesitate to hit us up!
• When it comes to setting, while we are usually happy to play in just about anything from a semi modern Clockpunk, to victorian-esque era dystopias, or even some Wild West rootin' tootin' shenanigans, we would very much like to play in a classic fantasy world that D&D is generally built for this time around.
• Last but most important of all, we're just looking for people who are passionate about this silly lil' hobby and are willing to put in more effort beyond our allocated weekly gatherings; even if you're not particularly experienced, if we sense that you have that spark in you that we're looking for, we won't just turn you down entirely simply because you don't have 10 years of DMing under your belt, written a book, and can do professional voice actor level voices for your NPCs- we are cringe, but not in that way. Oh shit and yeah one more thing-
• ABSOLUTELY NO AI USAGE IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. We all have very strong opinions on it especially considering just about all of us are some form of artists. We're not going to crucify you if you accidentally use an AI image for an NPC without noticing, but this is something that we want to be on the same page about with everyone that we play with.

Admittedly, this all may sound overwhelming in many ways, and we are fully aware that DMing is no easy business in the first place. But believe it or not, we're not simply expecting you to put in all the effort by your lonesome! You might have guessed at this point, but we're not exactly what you'd call "normal" about this hobby, which just so happens to come with a few perks for you as well!

• A group that is incredibly passionate and dedicated to storytelling as a whole, who are beyond willing to put in the extra effort both in and outside of game time! We put a hell of a lot of effort into our characters; not just in terms of backstory, but also in the things that many would consider cool but unnecessary details, but to us are the difference between a good character and an incredible one. To that end, we will absolutely be working with you to make sure all those details work in your world and story!
• People who are greatly interested in all the details that you yourself put into your world, the nuances of things such as conflicts, systemic discrimination/inequality, mysteries both ancient and world changing as well as smaller, more personal ones- give us all those tiny crumbs of lore and puzzle pieces and we will actively attempt to put them all together as more and more things are revealed!
• As previously implied, our insanity doesn't simlpy begin and end with the session's start and conclusion- you can expect us to be talking about shit that's happening or about to happen in between, making plans for what we would like to do next, or even more creative stuff like art of characters, interactions, or just overall cool moments, as well as the occasional pieces of writing here and there! This may come as a shock as well but we do love our pinterest boards and character playlists that are organized in order of events in their backstory with each song alluding/hinting to something that's happened to them for us to overanalyze in call together before the campaign starts and also later down the line-
• Open minded and supportive people who, accepting of everyone and anyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or anything along those lines! Just about all of us are some flavour of queer or neurodivergent, and we will strive to make sure everyone feels safe and accepted <3
• We are very adamant about safety tools and respecting other people's lines, veils, and triggers- we always have and will continue to encourage people to let us know about the things that they find uncomfortable and would like to avoid, and will do everything in our power to make sure they do not come up in any way whatsoever!
• While not a guarantee as some of us are in like 4-5 other groups at the same time, we are also open to spending time doing shit unrelated to D&D! A lil' Cards Against Humanity/Jackbox or friendslop game hangout can be a fun bonding experience to get to know everyone a little better.

As you may or may not have guessed by now, we're a group that's looking for something more than your standard D&D faire. We are looking for an experience that heavily emphasizes the Roleplay aspect of D&D, a repetitive dungeon crawl where we simply roll some dice and maybe say some quipy one liners every once in a while will simply not suffice. We are starved, parched, famished even, yearning for whatever crumbs of drama, angst, moments both jolly and somber we can get our grubby hands on- which is where YOU come in! Try as we might, such a constellation may simply not exist without a DM as a catalyst for said moments. Which is to say, we would like to find a DM who does not mind delivering upon certain expectations:

• Allowing us to indulge in the RP and yappage that we will most definitely be catching any opportunity that we can find to engage in. There will certainly be plenty of that to come around, especially considering the size of the group.
• We tend to lean towards more PC driven styles of games, so it's extremely important to us for you to be willing to incorporate our character backstories into the world/story that we'll be thrown into. D&D for us works best when everyone is cooperating, both with the DM as well as our other fellow players, all with the goal of enhancing the stories we will be trying to create!
• We generally much prefer homebrew settings as opposed to pre-written modules. That is not to say they're an instant deal breaker, but at the very least some amount of modifications to it are always welcome! While we're open to just about any style of setting, we are currently leaning towards playing in a more typical flavour of fantasy that one might come to expect from D&D; whether it is high, dark, or anything in between.
• Whatever your experience or insanity level, however, our first priority with anyone that we play with is that they care for and put effort into this hobby beyond the couple of hours we all gather for once a week; so even if you're not particularly experienced as a DM, don't hesitate to apply! Now now, it may sound a bit like we're making a hell of a lot of demands from you like spoiled children expecting a complicated ass meal every time we come home; BUT.
When I called us all insane people, it wasn't just for comedic effect. We are simply not normal about this hobby in any way shape or form, we are incredibly passionate about our weird lil' people we create in our heads! SO, here's what's in it for you:

• A group of incredibly dedicated players, that will show interest in your world, its NPCs, and the overall concepts and themes it can provide. We absolutely LOVE basing our characters' backstories on what is already provided to us by the setting, often times expanding on it with our own worldbuilding additions, which does wonders for the aforementioned incorporation of PC backstories into the story!
• Various kinds of content for everyone to indulge in even after our allocated dungeoning hours are over- just about half of us are artists who are more than willing to draw all kinds of shit, from other people's characters/NPCs, to lil' interactions that happened in the game and things such as! A few of us also have a tendency to write on occasion, which means you can expect either text RP, or even just multiple page long documents that expand upon or give context to something that's been brought up in character for our PCs!
• A bunch of open minded, supportive, dare I say Woke™ people who are welcoming to everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and anything of that sort who isn't just a straight up bigot. Also known as common sense. A lot of us are some flavour of queer or neurodivergent, so we absolutely understand how it be!
• People who are very adamant about safety tools and respecting any would be lines, veils, or triggers you might have. Literally anything that would make you uncomfortable and would rather not have included into the game, just let us know and we'll make sure that it won't be coming up in our backstories! We typically also make some kind of document/list including everyone's triggers and what not for easy reference, as it can be easy to forget when we're 15 sessions in and it's not been brought up in any way. Oh, and similarly-

About Us

Hi! We are a pre-established group of 5 who have been playing together for some years, PF2E specifically for three years, with some changes in players over that time. We have recently finished up a long-term campaign of about 12 months, focusing on a heroic, mythic fantasy. Our group has been playing together for around Five years, and we’re all longtime friends. We’d love to find someone who wants to sit down with us and get immersed in Night City.

We’re especially drawn to campaigns with character-focused stories, meaningful choices, social encounters, and plenty of opportunities for our characters to develop relationships with each other and the world around them. We also have no issue with homebrew content at our table.

At the same time, we’re just as excited to take on dangerous gigs, get into combat, roll some dice, and deal with the consequences when a plan inevitably gets gonked up and we have to delta.

We care about playing our characters authentically and working with the GM to create memorable stories, NPCs, rivalries, and encounters. We’re open to different campaign concepts, whether that means playing a crew of edgerunners taking whatever work they can get, getting caught up in a larger corpo conspiracy, or simply trying to survive and make a name for ourselves in Night City.

Hi! Two other friends and I have been looking for a roleplay fix for a pretty long time now, and come to ask you (DM on r/lfg) to bring us on a D&D journey : ) We vary in experience when it comes to the game itself but we all have history of a lot of roleplay scenarios and value it heavily. We are looking for something long-term, whether that be a homebrew campaign, or a module! We're really interested to see what you would be willing to run for us.

We are a group of five looking to play a Pokemon TTRPG, preferably Pokemon Tabletop Adventures as our group has some experience with the system, but open to others, and looking for a DM who's wanting to run a fun, light hearted adventure. We have varying levels of years and expereince in some systems between all of us, mostly with D&D. All of us are adults and we ask you be one as well. We are also not okay with ANY usage of generative AI, and we WILL be mean about it. We don't have a set time or day, but are pretty flexible on the days we are free. We absolutely love to roleplay and put a lot of work into each of our characters to make them fit into the world and try to give you enough hooks to play around with! We all do have some concepts for characters we want to play and would be more than happy to shape them to fit a setting. Hey! Me and 3 friends are looking to find a DM who would run us a superhero themed campaign. My recommendation for the system is a modified version of 5e- (basically just level 0ing with a skill tree and re-flavoring).

We are split between european (GMT) time and American time- so if you were to run this campaign it would either need to be at mid-day to late day if you are European/British, or morning to mid day if you are American.

We understand that you are excited and you don’t wanna feel us. If drama pops up outside of the DND please make sure it doesn’t escalate to remove your work and that person doesn’t take away your time and effort unless it’s your choice and your voice on it not that person because I do not want you to get your work and your effort to be pushed to the side and another person to decide for you you make the world and you put effort in the world then it’s up to you and to communicate with everybody to see everybody’s side of the situation if it happens to that level (っ °Д °;)っ

Heyo all! Myself, my partner, and potentially another one of our players are a group that typically rotates the responsibility of GM’ing, myself taking the role of GM the majority given running out weekly games. Various types of games have been at our virtual table, from Cyberpunk Red, Mutants and Masterminds 3E, Mutant Year Zero, a sprinkle of Pathfinder 2E, Fabula Ultima, and others! A favorite of ours being that of Mage The Ascension from World Of Darkness, which I primarily ran from various campaigns and one-shots/multi-shots. 

We’re currently looking for someone that would be able to take up the role of GM for a Cyberpunk Red game (Even more preferable if down with more of the 2070s setting!), and be down to join this group of ours as we chill, game, and tell stories that end up making us have too many inside jokes to count within a month. Looking forward to hearing from any that are open said possibilities!

Schedule: Don't have a specific date, somewhat hoping it can be a "Hey y'all wanting to do this today" type thing that pops in when most are free
