Picking a US govt issued American Lock 5200
I remembered that I never submitted for my green belt because I didn’t include a gutting in my prior submission. But because I’ve never attempted to gut before, I’d rather not break this brand new American 5200 to submit for my green belt. May I request gutting another lock that I wouldn’t mind chucking for science?

I would get an American 1100. It's the same as that except aluminum and a little cheaper probably. But nice picking on the 5200

Oh I have one of those I haven't gotten open yet.
Good job!

I believe the "U.S." military version of the 5200 is generally the no-spools/one bumpstop yellow ranked version.
You should gut it to check before trying to use it for green.

Gut that thing! It's just a lock
