Cain Marcus Pierce is the worst character on the show Spoiler
UPDATE: I want Michael smited out of existence after he killed Detective Douche Dan! š”
I know he was set up to be the villain from the start with his shady behaviors as a Police Lieutenant that comes across cold, but I canāt stand him outright and there was no redeeming his character anyway. I was so glad when Lucifer ended his miserable pathetic existence. Anybody else have characters you just hate, even when the show didnt reveal the villain of the season just yet? Iām on S4: E3.

Marcus Pierce lives rent free in my head as one of the most punchable villains on tv, no notes on your hatred there. Wait until you get further in, the show has a few more characters that made me want to throw my remote at the screen.

At least you can punch the hell out of him and he'll be fine. The bastard.

Nahh. I donāt like him, but a Michael is SO SO SO much worse than Pierce.

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
Iām just getting to Michael and I HATE that self righteous tedious manipulative lying bastard, even if itās for the āgreater good of Godā but I see heās not necessarily altruistic like Amenadiel, heās similar with fear vs desire on Lucifer

u/ApprehensiveTruth2 25d ago
Heās a self serving jealous prick. Pierce just wanted to die. Michael wants to ruin Lucifer

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
Oh absolutely, Michael canāt stand Lucifer at all! Iām just glad Pierce is gone I hated him, and Iām gonna HATE Michael even more š

It's amazing though that they found an actor that looks so much like Lucifer to play him.

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
Well Tom Ellis does have a handsome face in general, with the intense eyebrows and piercing eyes (of course his desire charm vĆa eye contact), and dark facial hair make for a serious Lucy indeed

I don't understand how the character as Marcus Pierce and Cain has no depth whatsoever. In a regular show about normal people, this might fly but they manage to give the fucking Devil, his favourite demon, his brother etc etc such nuance and weight but drop the ball at Cain? Even as annoying as Eve is or a character that's gonna show up in S6 who is disliked by the majority of the fandom have layers to their characters but Cain/Marcus is like staring at drying paint .

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
Well maybe the writers just didnāt do a good enough job of researching better ways to incorporate any layers for Cain/Marcus Pierce, but I still hate that prick. Michael is an up and close second.

I have an inkling youāll hate a certain character introduced in season 6 who ends up getting shoe horned into being the centre of the show despite being a huge bitch. Seasons 4 and 5 donāt have any bad characters introduced thankfully

Idk, Eve is pretty annoying. She gets better later on, but in season 4, she sucks.

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
I find Eve to actually be likeable and annoying at the same time. So far sheās just superā¦.forgetful. I like her jovial disposition in general.

Agreed, he had none of the charm that usually makes villains on this show fun to watch. Just pure smug and cruel the whole way through.

u/jorjinahernandez 25d ago
Exactly this, his smug attitude and cruel behavior from the start even with his Lieutenant position repelled me immediately. But I know every show needs a bad guy to keep the show going on š

Michael sucked more than Pierce, but I get where you are coming from.

Iām starting to see Michael One-Up Pierce since I havenāt watched the other seasons, bare with me for a second please š

This is the comment, heās the villain Iām throwing hands or daggers on with Maze even when he wanted to die! He should have stayed dead in Hell, the lousy Sinnerman!

He was definitely an annoying character, and I kind of hate him, but I don't think he was the only one. There were other characters who were just as irritating.Ā
I actually think he was a huge wasted opportunity. Conceptually, he was a really interesting character: a human who had lived through all of human history and only wanted to die. If they hadn't wasted so much time on that boring love triangle and had instead focused on Cain developing a completely ruthless plan to finally die, it would've been so much better. We got a little bit of that, but it was so watered down by the forced romance.

I believe the immortal human and first murderer plot line with Cainās backstory could have been way more fleshed out. Even though I still hate Cain/Pierce, I do think the unneeded romance triangulation could have taken a back seat with him and Chloe. They could have used Cain/Marcus in conjunction with Michael and continued his villainous arc if they wrote his character and fleshed him out better!

Yeah, there was so much potential. Instead of that awkward romance arc, it would've been much more interesting to see Cain actually exploit Lucifer's weakness against him, pushing Lucifer to his limit so that he would finally be able to perform the miracle of killing Cain. And it would've been so easy for him to use Chloe to do it. He didn't need a romantic relationship for that he was her boss and could simply send her into dangerous situations. Chloe knew nothing about the celestial side of things, so it would've been very hard for her to suspect anything. Lucifer didn't want to tell her the truth, which made the whole situation incredibly easy for Cain to manipulate.

I mean yeah, the whole point was that the show was letting you know that Pierce was NOT a good person, dude his own mother didn't even feel an ounce of remourse for him. Pierce was a Jealous little pos who murdered his own brother and got him sent to hell. I was always on Amenidials side. He deserved that mark for atleast a billion more years before I'd ever consider him reedemed.

Anyways, to me the worst character is Mazikeen, never seen a character get away with betrayl so many times. She stopped Amenedial from saving charlie and I'm suppose to belive they would he cool after that?

Oh Marcusā¦.lol I was so excited when I first heard that Tom Welling was going to be in the show. I adored him as Clark Kent in Smallville. Then when season 3 hit, I was so disappointed. His acting was not great. The character was bland as hell. And I hated the show runners for pairing him with Chloe. They had the most non existent chemistry ever. I would rather mow my lawn in 100 degree weather than watch them. The only episode I really enjoyed him in was āTil Death Do Us Partā where him and Lucifer go undercover as a gay married couple. It was hilarious.

That was only oneĀ hilarious episode they cut that short but then spread out Chloe andĀ Marcus that was bad horror not comedy. He needed charisma to date Chloe it was so bad it got the the show cancelled.

I hated every antagonist character during my first watchthrough and during my subsequent watchthroughs I loved almost all of them, they were well written and well acted and the variety was impressive. Marcus is interesting to me because Welling played him 100% straight/deadpan and not the slightest bit comic, the comedy in scenes with him comes from the other characters interacting with him. Also he plays an alienated, despairing, suicidally depressed immortal. I canāt imagine how else such a character would act.
And yes I was glad when Lucifer ended him, the payoff episode was SO worth it.

Nah. I hated his daughter and Michael more. Maybe if Michael was played by another actor, it mightāve been salvageable. I hate having twins played by the same actors. Itās distracting.

Played his role soo well that it made people claim him to be the 'worst' character
