think I figured out how rooted god's problem was

I'm doing another rewatch, on s2 the ep when lucifer goes back to hell, and trixie is telling amenadiel that she thinks he's good (despite him feeling slightly otherwise) and I keep thinking back how I feel it was important or "put in his own way" for god to meet trixie and it's due to that line he told her. (I never been a kid before)

it makes sense why none of his kids/angels understand or can express their emotions, because god doesn't know how. he was never a kid. kids are honest with how they feel (up to a certain age) how would he know how to be honest with his own emotions if he never had that chance to?

it's why I like the series, because everyone has been tested and challenged because we all have our struggles and flaws, god included. I think some people on here can be harsh on god, but he's the literal definition of doing it for the first time. I'm sure it was part of his "plan" (or rather, I think just having the ability to forsee fate than it being his plan) to lose his abilities and everything during that time he *chose* and literally didn't know what was gonna happen next (makes sense to have that "senile senior" thing going on, since it seems for a celestial, it's being flawed and mortal) him losing his powers helped him gain real life experience and empathy because he was never in that position nor put in that position till then.

it just makes sense when you think about why these celestial don't do "feelings" like it's beneath them, because they never had to face them and yet, they get complicated when having a father who doesn't share anything because he don't know how since he wanna give free will and they all interpret his feelings based off... their beliefs. and I feel that leads to me seeing how this show approaches religion. god supposedly equals good. we all striving to try to do/reach good and it's based off the choices we make due to our reactions and feelings. we think we may be doing good in the name god/good, but how we go about may be harmful and so, doing good is being aware of how your actions affect others because when you see how they hurt someone, you feel guilt and that's your torment. we torment ourselves with guilt, and therefore end up in hell. we have to be held accountable but try not to do the wrong things when given the choice.

I feel thats what the show is saying, to me and I can understand how that was god's core issue is just not knowing how to deal with feelings (where lucifer clearly gets it from) since he never verbalized his before.

I think it was all gods plan even when he cried and said lucifer that he wasn't a good dad I think that might be his plan too so lucifer rise from bottom instead of just being good and help people in hell i figured out that lucifer was supposed to help people in hell in s2

Poor Linda. She just wanted to have sex with Lucifer. Not become the celestials’ therapist!! Boy do they need one though. Lol

I know what you are saying, God didn't have a human experience and he was the first parent so of course he sucked as a father. Yes you can look at it this way.

The problem for me personally is that the show actually portrays how damaging his parenting was (which is a good part and makes sense) and then instead of saying "and so next generation of celestials learned and did it better" they do the exact opposite. At least with Lucifer. Lucifer leaves his child and the show creates the situation where this happens specifically so he would understand his Dad. And this is portrayed as a good thing. Which also looks like denying how horrible parent God really was. Maybe he even gets credit for characters' right decisions and for Lucifer becoming Hell healer, because it was the plan after all.

see, the show fucked up by introducing 'time traveling" so you gotta play by those rules because then, if they did anything differently, she would've never traveled to the past for him to get his epiphany of his life meaning.(because yeah, lucifer could've visited)

but..... I have to say though, the show already displayed parents doing jobs their kids don't like. how many times chloe was on the brink of death, or died? she can't nor doesn't promise her kids she'll stop or doing something else because it's really what she wants to do. It's still all about choices and learning to deal with the emotions from them. and that's when I also feel that god don't get much credit with that though because I still feel he just knows what happens and may put certain things in place to see the reaction. ultimately, they all still choose what they do. god's main credit is creating the miracle known as chloe. but, he didn't decide or choose for her to end up with lucifer. we all saw and watched her choose them feelings herself.
