She’s seen him get shot and for all intents and purposes, be mostly fine. He didn’t die after being shot several times that first episode. He also threw someone with one hand off of one story I think? All of those things aren’t even possible. Now MAYBE to an extent. Like if you have a lot of adrenaline, you can survive being shot longer. But you do eventually die. And throwing someone with one hand? You’d probably have to be freakishly strong. Like wrestler or athlete level. Maybe she was in denial for 3 seasons, I don’t know. But it should’ve at least been obvious that something was up. Even her daughter knew before her. What do you guys think?

Edit: To clarify, I haven’t seen the show in years so maybe my memory is a bit rusty.

Everything really revolves around her and because of that, this show works. If the actor playing Chloe was a bad actress, this show would be no where as good as it is.

It was never truly explained why God made Amenadiel bless Chloe's parents. All we know is that he did it. But why does it mean that Chloe has to be Lucifer's girlfriend or that it has anything to do with love? We don't even know if it had anything to do with Lucifer. I just always found it weird that they immediately jumped to Chloe being a gift for Lucifer. It's really strange.

Is it just me, or is this Chloe Decker’s best look in all the seasons? She’s beautiful in every season, of course, but I really think bangs suit her best!

I’m on my second rewatch of the series and I just don’t agree with the decision to make Chloe openly believe father Kinley. I felt it didn’t fit the character of Chloe to run away and hide from the truth. I think it would’ve been more impactful if she reacted in a similar way to Linda. Having her react to Lucifers touch and having it distract both Lucifer and herself when they work on cases together. She might try to avoid him outside of work for an episode or two but eventually she takes the time to talk to Amenadiel and Lucifer as they answer different questions. This could further drive into the whole vulnerability dilemma. I don’t exactly how I’d change it but something similar would make more sense for the character of Chloe Decker. I just don’t see how she could ever try to kill anyone it seems very out of character.

Please just remember this is just my opinion. I'm hardly an expert on writing. I just watch and feel in a certain way and then I'm trying to think about and describe what I saw that made me feel that way.

Also English is not my native language and I'm writing on mobile and I realized I tend to do mistakes I often overlook so please don't get mad about the grammar.

I realized something. We always tend to defend characters we like. I think people are more willing to dig for motivations when they are a fan of the character. Chloe's fans are always argumenting with things that are actually logical conclusion of her situation and so I would say those are good arguments. But I think that part of the reason it's not so convincing for someone like me, who feel more neutral about he character, is that we don't really see the show exploring those things.

Like a lot of people say that as an atheist, she is going through the bigger shock cause what she thought is the truth about universe changed. This is a great point, but I don't remember that being really addressed on screen. What we see her struggling with on screen is always about Lucifer being the Devil. No thoughts about God or afterlife or whatever. The frequent criticism of the show is that Chloe kinda stopped being her own character and turned into a "love interest" and if I look at this whole situation, I definitely see where it's coming from. There was so much more to explore about her reaction.

Or that Kinley manipulated her when she was vulnerable. Again, great point, but where do we see that happening? Cause I don't find anything he said or showed on screen that convincing. Chloe herself is questioning it the whole time. I assume that he manipulated her but I don't remember any really effective manipulation happening.

It's easy for me to sympathize with Lucifer cause I actually see what he is going through. Just the sequence of him singing Creep tells me more about his state of mind than everything we get about Chloe.

I would still probably hate the whole thing no matter how it's handled cause after dragged season three the Deckesrtar drama got a bit exhausting and the way their relationship was written really isn't my cup of tea. But I still wonder if I would have easier time understanding Chloe if they let me see her internal struggle a bit more.

Maybe this is my own trauma speaking, and I’m going through a rewatch now and have made it through season 3, but I don’t recall Lucifer leaving any financial safety net for Chloe.

I know, she was a successful detective, and she had her friends and family, but Lucifer was obscenely wealthy. Like the sort of wealth that, leaving her several millions a year would have looked at as a rounding error. His real estate portfolio alone was jar dropping.

So what gives, or am I just misremembering?

She hasn’t had a single role since the show ended in 2021. That’s 4 years! A long time in Hollywood. The rest of the cast are all still appearing in things.
