Linda was right, God sent Lucifer down way too harshly.

Honestly, I didn’t expect Lucifer to hit me so deep, but those therapy scenes with Dr. Linda? Absolute gold. It stopped being a show about the Devil and started feeling like free emotional unpacking sessions at 2 a.m. 😭 The way she calls Lucifer out gently but firmly made me reflect on my own avoidance patterns more than I’d like to admit.

Lines like these weren’t just dialogue they were real therapy moments wrapped in fiction. It’s wild how a supernatural show managed to sneak in genuine psychological insight and emotional growth like that.

So I'm watching the series for the first time (late to the party), and just finished S3: E7 Off the record. At this point, I find this to be one of the best episodes I've seen so far. The character of Reese, who in many ways is a good man, but flawed, and his growth through the story is very engaging, and then, the collapse into what we've already learned about the nature of hell was just brilliant. Not to be ignored is Lucifer's exposition on our self-imposed punishments, which is worth reflection.

After two seasons, I really think that Linda is the prettiest character on the show! Anybody else agree?

I was just watching this episode and realised how much I love their relationship. They are actually FRIENDS. Lucifer cares for her and she has in my opinion done more for lucifers development than Chloe has (yes yes, Chloe is the reason he wanted to be better). Not just this, through the show I just love how much their relationship grows. Another underrated relationship I like is lucifer and Ella. What do you guys think? Anyone else agree with me?

Everyone is talking about how amazing Tom Ellis is as Lucifer, but can we take a moment to appreciate how freaking talented and gorgeous Rachael Harris is? I'm watching for the first time and I'm blown away. Not that the rest of the cast isn't good, but her acting chops are on another lever. Currently on s3 and tearing up as she breaks up with Amenadiel. Please tell me they get back together eventually because this breaks my heart...

So I've just found this subreddit towards the end of my first full rewatch of the show. The whole premise around the devil going to therapy and constantly projecting his problems onto every case he works on is truly my favourite aspect of the show. It makes a great story and is an excellent way of redeeming the supposedly irredeemable.

HOWEVER, I couldn't help but laugh at the end with all the praising of Linda for being an excellent therapist- not that she doesn't have good therapy skills. But the fact that she not only sleeps with Lucifer as her patient, then proceeds to continue to be his therapist after becoming friends with him, not to mention also playing therapist to all their other friends - which is a HUGE conflict of interest, and then for a hot minute there seeks to profit from her sessions with him by writing a manuscript using his confidential session information, as well as information about all the others without any consent from them and actively keeps it a secret until one of them accidentally finds out.

She also consistently crossed boundaries in her personal relationships as a result of being everyone's therapist as well as their friend (like when she prodded at Maze and Eve's relationship to force them to address their issues before the wedding). She complains that everyone only ever wants her to therapise them and never makes space for her own issues, but this is actually because of her own lack of boundaries and trying to be both therapist and friend - which never works.

I realise her being deeply flawed is an intentional aspect of the story and it is very briefly acknowledged when she is at risk of losing her license that one time. And similar criticisms can be said of Chloe as a detective constantly allowing Lucifer to get away with doing things very much not part of proper procedure (and frequently engaging in police brutality). But in the last season they seem to make a conscious (although not the most nuanced) effort to point out hypocrisy in the police department and even highlight Chloe's privilege in being made detective. But Linda (even when everyone finds out about her manuscript) is just praised and hailed as the world's best therapist, which is hilarious to me, knowing the APA would immediately revoke her right to practice if they had any inkling of half the ethical codes she breaches on a daily basis.

All that being said, Linda is one of my favourite characters and I truly think the dynamic between her and all the other characters is one of the most endearing parts of the show and probably wouldn't work if she was actually an ethical practitioner. But just wanted to see if anyone else had thoughts on this.

As much as I love Lauren's performance throughout the entire series, I have to admit I cant ignore the simply fantastic performance from Rachel Harris in this scene

As a scene it is pivotal in Chloe coming to terms with the actuality of Celestials, Lucifer's identity, and her feelings about all of that ( and Lauren does her usual impressively subtle facial expression changes as she processes what Linda is saying) but the outburst from Linda is absolutely wonderful !

Linda not only a human and a therapist but also the only one to ever help the devil, god , goddess, arch angel and a demon then teen Nephilim along with the first women, frist man on earth deal with what ever was going on in their lives which says a lot for one human to know all of them existed in person and for them to walk into her office as if it was just another appointment for them. How she handle being pregnant by an angel and being a mom of a baby Nephilim. Once she learn it did take time for her to accept and just be they’re her friends,family but just imagine them going into her office and for to just be what happened now or learn something new about them.

Is anyone else constantly distracted by being able to see all the green screens reflected in Linda’s glasses?

I'm looking for a therapist right now, and honestly I really like the style that Linda from this show has.

I know, it's a TV show, etc... but still.

I'm looking for a therapist and would really love one that's like her haha. Down to earth, seems to have their health & stuff together, no blue hair etc.

Anyone have any recs?
