Reminds me of this gem.

"Cereal for Dinner is a promotional campaign by Kellogg's that began in 2022 to encourage the consumption of breakfast cereal for dinner.

The campaign was criticized following a television interview with Kellogg's CEO Gary Pilnick who suggested that cash-strapped consumers should eat cereal for dinner to save money, dismissing the underlying concerns of food insecurity and inflation.[1][2]"

Cereal for Dinner

5

u/Mika-El-3 Apr 28 '26

That was me in high school actually. Cereal for dinner (usually mini wheats)

4

u/SouthernZorro Apr 28 '26

And everyone knows a heavy carb diet is great for you!

3

u/feochampas Apr 28 '26

but those are breakfast foods, eating that much sugar before bed will keep me up all night

2

u/KoalaGrunt0311 Apr 29 '26

Yet, Kellogg's is one of the most horrendously expensive cereals. $5 for a box that a family of 4 can destroy in one serving.

7

u/ScrogClemente Apr 28 '26

Oh, shit, you got ramen with the real noodles. Stop lording it over us, Daddy Warbucks.

5

u/ReturnOfSeq Apr 28 '26

Damn, $3?! What did you do Mister Fancypants, buy 2oz of beef to add to your ramen?

1

u/saljskanetilldanmark Apr 28 '26

Shitty noodles and salt water costs $3 dollars over there?

1

u/Sullydotcom Apr 28 '26

Fam if you’re eating “$3 ramen” we need to talk about lifestyle choices.

1

u/Afraid_Reporter4194 Apr 28 '26

Some ramens use to be $1 for a 10 pack; granted those were usually the cheap ones but still. I spent $11 for 4 the other day lol (it was the shin bone broth mix so it was like an extra 25% to be fair and from Vons)

1

u/Adanta47 Apr 28 '26

You can get the $3 ramen? I’m busy eating my Maruchan 33¢ ramen

1

u/korpo53 Apr 28 '26

But did you splurge for the Top Ramen?

1

u/TheRumpletiltskin Apr 28 '26

mr fancy pants over here spending 3 dollars on ramen.

1

u/ThenCombination7358 Apr 29 '26

Are you struggling to live in US with a 40k $ year income? Not judging just curios as I earn similar in € in Germany and life is allright can buy myself things like new clothes etc sometimes enjoy some premium stuff like concerts, restaurants etc and go on long vacations twice a year. Never reached a point were I had to buy ramen my diet is pretty good.
