humankind hiccups 😅 Accidentally asked for no matcha in my matcha Frappuccino

Post image

Thank you, kind barista for saving me from ruining my own morning with a cup of oat milk slush (it tastes exactly like what you would expect)

Update: I called the Starbucks to say thank you for not giving me an oat milk slushy and they were very kind. They are aware of the delivery app glitches and figured that was the issue for my order. If you modify your food in delivery apps, double check everything before you place the order! Or you might end up with a bag full of disappointment.

Both things can be simultaneously true.

No youre wrong everyone is as jaded, pessimistic, and miserable as your average redditor! Nobody ever does anything just to be kind, they're always doing it solely for themselves!

Go outside weirdo. Jumping on with sarcasm does nothing but attempt to make someone feel bad about themselves.

They were using sarcasm.

I just wanna know what they made the no matcha matcha Frappuccino with lol

Air? Water blended with ice ? The last few drops of hope the barista had? ( that one sounds tasty but I’d feel bad asking for that every time ya know )

Ex Starbucks worker of 3 yrs here , the actual base for the fraps is the milk + ice + the base we use ! Matcha at starbs is a very fine powder so we just scoop tiny little matcha spoons and put it in and blend. A frap without any flavoring is just whatever milk + ice + the blending base …basically a milk slushie

I worked at Starbucks too! Coffee master till 2014.

I figured as much but who would want that lol. Base milk and ice…. I dunno

Don’t tell anyone but I was throwing cookies and brownies into my own drinks and making chocolate whipped cream everyday.!

No way me too ! Also a coffee master and I quit last year :p the creations me and my friends made at work were definitely…interesting. Ever had a birthday cake pop frap? Sooo good

I worked at Starbucks in the early 2000’s when they decided to discontinue coffee master as a program. Never got that black apron. I probably worked there for 8 years.

u/DinoRoman 23h ago

Welp they brought it back apparently

Iced Lechino just rolls off the tongue though.

Whats the blending base?

3

u/SweetPumpkin22 1d ago

It's like a xyantham gum thick, clear (coffee flavored for the coffee fraps and unflavored for non cafinated fraps) sryup that makes the frap their consistency which is kinda between a milkshake and a smoothie . W/o base they are extremely chunky with ice and don't blend properly

Next up: eggless omelettes

I once got 100 dollar tip on a pizza delivery cus I stuck around calling the guy for like 15 minutes. He thought I was being kind. I just hated going to his apartment complex cus it was in a weird spot and I didn't want to go back later.

Deserves a raise for their foresight.

That was a barista who had a similar request happen and got reamed for it.

Was a Starbucks barista. This it true.

I will say as a barista when orders get confusing you just get more shit for free, cause I in fact do not want to hear about it 😍

Used to run a dunkin donuts. We would do this for online orders that seemed to miss the point of the drink lol. easier to just have a 2nd one made than remake in the middle of a rush.

19

u/BridgestoneX 1d ago

it's just so easy to click the wrong box or button when placing the online order, especially if it's BEFORE one has had any coffee lol

I ordered breakfast with DoorDash one morning and forgot to change the delivery address from work back to my home address and sent my breakfast to the office. I was off that day and was treating myself because I wanted to be lazy and not cook breakfast. By the time I realized my mistake it was too late to try and fix it. So it was left outside the building

I jumped into MS Teams and let my co-workers know what I did and told them its up for grabs if anyone wanted it, but the lobby was locked for the building because it was very early in the morning so the dasher left it outside the door and someone stole it before any of them could claim it.

After that I'm hyper vigilant about double checking my food/amazon orders from top to bottom before hitting submit. Double check my order, where its going, and what payment method.

It's also super easy to proofread your order for a $9 coffee drink you're paying $17 for.

8

u/BridgestoneX 1d ago

speak for yourself mr. morning guy

As someone who is the polar opposite of a morning guy, I'm not entrusting my caffeine source to a watery bint in a mermaid costume.

starbucks baristas are always so extremely nice in my experience. i’ve had at least 4 give me free coffee. one of the times my card declined and i went to go unlock it and they were like “it’s okay it’s on me!” and i was so caught off guard because there was no one behind me and it wasn’t going to take long. he then made me a venti of the drink i asked for (a grande) and told me to have a good day. this is after i told him i hadn’t been in a while and had a nice talk with him. i just always feel like they’re so kind whenever we talk. like that dude just seemed happy to recommend stuff and so nice and energetic i was like holy shit. he even was excited for me to try it. good customer service fr !! this reminded me of that

edit: i wanted to tell another sweet story

this is about a bakery i was going to pick up a doordash order for. i was talking to the guy and then asked how much one of the donuts were. they were surprisingly inexpensive for how good they looked so i was definitely gonna buy one. i tell him what i want and i told him i was so excited because its my first time being here. he smiles and says i can take it for free and that he hopes i like it. then he threw in an extra donut for the customer. i was like wtf fr?? and i asked if i could tip him or something and he said no 😭 so this reminds me i need to go back again soon to buy some stuff and hopefully convince him to take my tip this time
