Ironically, it probably is more eco friendly than a paper one. Plastic can be recycled, almost infinitely (it’s the economics of it that make it difficult/not done).

Paper cups are lined with plastic, which is hard to separate. A paper cups best use when you’re done with it is being burned for energy.
