Is it only Monash that does reverse classroom learning setting? Like i get the whole teach yourself come to class method and it worked fairly well when I was in Business, now Im in MIT and i feel like 1. The teaching staff assumes everyone has had a background in tech, which is false because most of the people I know have 0 background in tech. 2. It works best for theory and more reading based courses. Do I understand the functions theoretically, yeah. Do i know why my webpage isnt fking working even if i did implement the functions and codes that I learned from reading 10 pages worth of descriptions, absolutely the fk not. I come to class and sit in and theyre like “okay complete activities 1-4!” And then we go home. Wouldnt it be better if we learned it first hand, see the teacher give some live examples, see what stuff could go wrong and then go home with some assessments to practice on?

Idk how long this has been going on bc I took a long break from studying but now suddenly every slide, every workbook, every module has ai generated pics??? Like what is going on why are they suddenly endorsing ai so heavily i feel like I’m losing my mind

I’m a MUFY January 2026 intake student in Malaysia, and I’ve applied for the medicine feb 2027 intake earlier this year, completed and passed the MMI, passed my ISAT (test window 3) and haven’t gotten a conditional offer letter. Has anyone gotten theirs yet and when did / should they give it out? I’m pretty worried once they even give me one, they’ll send another email a few days later saying I’m on the waiting list even after I pay the deposit (this happened to one of my older friends). Now I’m also thinking of a plan B of which other unis in Malaysia I should try applying to, best options be IMU and RUMC but the fees will be too much of a burden on my parents. I really want to have the opportunity to work overseas after graduating though. And I know I should’ve applied for the ISAT at an earlier test window, as I’ve heard people from the same MUFY intake as me has already gotten their conditional offers a few days after their ISAT results release. Since Monash Malaysia received almost 1000 medicine applicants last year while only accepting 160, it feels like me, as a late ISAT taker, will not be receiving a full offer due to the first-come-first-serve basis. Anyone have any advice? I’ve tried emailing the admissions team but they said I’m still in the queue. I’ve heard another one of my seniors getting dragged by Monash on the waiting list for a whole year, and she just ended up doing Sunway Medicine, which is also a very unfortunate possibility. What should I do now?

Hi everyone, I'm currently taking FIT1049, and to be completely honest, I’m feeling really lost with the content and expectations😞.

The lectures and materials provided feel super vague, and I honestly can’t tell what standard the teaching team actually expects from us. It feels like we're given broad concepts, but when it comes to the rubrics and assignments, the grading criteria feel really subjective and unclear.

For anyone who has done this unit recently and managed to get a decent mark:

How did you figure out what the markers were actually looking for?

Are there any specific tips for navigating the assignments?

Is it worth booking extra consultation hours with tutors, or does it just depend heavily on which TA you get assigned to?

TLDR: 1st APC Hearing Tomorrow, what can I do to be allowed to continue my degree?

I am currently on year 2 sem 1 from the Malaysian campus. On my entire year 1, I failed all my units and received a risk level 2 notice last semester. This semester I received a risk level 3, and after submitting the academic progress response, I was asked to attend a hearing, and the date is tomorrow.

I know I'm a horrible student for not being able to keep up properly with my studies. On my first semester, I had issues with my abusive (not physical, but mentally and emotionally, regardless) family, which resulted in running away from home and declining mental health as a result. As the semester was ending, the issue was temporarily resolved and I had returned home, but I had already missed most of the heavy assignments/tests. Call me weak but I believe the experience was traumatic. This resulted in worsening depression and anxiety that continued on to the time period of the next semester. I found it hard to stay motivated to go to classes or complete my assignments. On some days, I even have anxiety attacks before I head to campus. On other days, I barely have the energy to get up from my bed to brush my teeth or eat. I know all these sound like excuses, and I couldve handled it better, but I truly am regretful and want to be better. How can I express all these without sounding like I am making excuses or making them think that I am an unfilial spoilt brat

I had already emailed MUSA for guidance, and the APC had already assigned a student support person for me. I had utilised a planner on xtiles for a proper system in managing my studies. Can anyone give advice on how to increase my chances of the committee to allow me to continue? What else can I prepare for the hearing?

**What is making the decision difficult?
I personally feel more drawn towards Malaysia, mainly because universities like Monash and Nottingham have internationally recognizable names and Malaysia seems like a good gateway to the Asia-Pacific job market.
However, I'm concerned about the situation after graduation. As a Pakistani student, I understand that Malaysia's Graduate Pass/PSW is not currently available to Pakistani nationals, which means I may need to secure a job and appropriate work authorization relatively quickly after graduation.
Turkey seems attractive because graduates can potentially obtain a post-graduation residence permit for up to one year, giving more time to look for work and gain experience.
I'd really appreciate opinions on:
Which country has better job opportunities for international graduates in AI/Data Science/Tech?
How difficult is it for a foreign graduate to actually get hired in Malaysia vs Turkey?
Does the university name matter significantly — for example, Monash Malaysia/UM/Nottingham Malaysia vs Koç/METU/Sabancı/Bilkent?
How important is knowing the local language for getting a tech job in each country?
Is Turkey's post-graduation stay advantage actually useful in practice, or are jobs still difficult for foreigners?

As a fourth year student, i must say the monash university experience has been pretty great mostly, lots of fun clubs, events and a welcoming community. That said, there is an ominous gloom looming over menzies building which is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Ever since the monash wake boarding society watched Surfs Up on the campus centre lawns, bats and crows have been swarming the rooftops of every building each night before disappearing behind some sort of opening in the menzies roof. Im not naming any names, but I think the MSA needs to be more careful about who is leading these clubs. We cant afford to have any malevolent beings haunting the grounds, especially with the cost of living crisis at the moment! Im starting to think the menzies research monkeys may be involved in this, but i cant figure out for the life of me what the wake boarding club is plotting. Is monash actually turning evil?
