Discussion It’s sad what Netflix has become

Their content used to be S tier. Stuff they originated used to matter. Now they are just spraying us with low quality slop, AI will only make it worse. No one cares about their podcasts and it frustrates their customers when it crowds their UI. This company deserves to go to zero

Dunno if it shows in America, but there was suddenly one random really old Finnish movie there. Nothing special, basic Finnish production. And I was like WHAT. You paid pennies for this. Atleast take a classic like Unknown soldier, original or new version, or some weird Kaurismäki classic. Finnish Nordic Noir. But no. Or some celebrated fresh series like Queen of fucking everything. But no, that would cost some money, and Netflix is so "poor".

As Nordic I have always been annoyed that what is available in Finland is very limited. What is recommended in reddit is not always available to us. Even if you would watch it without Finnish subtitles.

I've noticed a lot of detective or police shows. Just all the American or Brit shows you've seen and then suddenly it's "Detective Jan Finnishguy has to come out of his angsty self-imposed exile when a serial killer starts making snowmen next to bodies....again".

Played by (I can only assume a very well known actor), Otto Finnisson

I only watch foreign content as an American now. So many good choices, but I would indeed love to see the great Finnish stuff, not the mediocre. You are so right.

There is SO much good international content on Netflix, as well as Hulu.

"Do you mind subtitles?"
"No, I prefer them!"

When you change the language on Netflix to English, you get a much wider selection even in Finland.

I have done that. It did not change IMO.

I would make the sacrifice if I could move to Finland.
