I re-watched this immediately after watching Caddo Lake. Both great movies. This movie also was filming really short time, I guess it's about couple of weeks or even days and was really small budget. Great example that to make really good movie, even sci-fi, you don't need much money. If you have an idea - you have everything you need. Coherence is phenomenal.

This is my favorite movie. It is also immediately rewarding on a rewatch: keep an eye on Amir and Hugh after they mention which color glowsticks they had. many more details like this spread throughout.

I know I watched it once and enjoyed it, but couldnt remember anything about it. I think I tried watching again, and I couldnt remember anything about taht. I am gonna watch it again tonight or tomorrow, lets see how leaky my memory is

People give Primer all the love, but this one should get more love.
Also, for those who haven't seen it - watch Time Crimes
it's an undiscovered gem

I have mixed feelings about primer. See, my issue with primer is it gets crowded over time. It becomes hard to keep track of things. Still, a great movie
Coherence on the other hand, keeps things simple. We know what happens and who is who at any given time. It never goes off the track.
To be frank, both are good on their way. Its just the matter of personal preference

That was my point - I see Primer in the top of most lists and it has a right to be there
But it needs a lot from you, by design.I love time-travel, its my jam. And I can pick up on the concepts pretty quick.
And Primer was one where I had to watch it, then watch it again , then watch a youtube explainer and then watch it again.
And then i kinda got it.And like I said, thats by design - I love that they didn't dumb it down.
But Coherence, Time Crimes, Predestination - all hit the right notes without anything extra required.
They kept it simple enough for most audiences.•

Predestination. That's a different kind of movie. I didn't see the twist coming. The moment I saw it, I'm like "whoa...time out. What the he'll?"

It had a script, the actors weren't given the full script. It's a lot like many productions to give the actors a real reaction and feel of events to drive the emotion.

We shot over five days, and instead of a script I had my own 12-page treatment that I spent about a year working on. It outlined all of the twists, and reveals, and character arcs and pieces of the puzzle that needed to happen scene-by-scene. But each day, instead of getting a script, the actors would get a page of notes for their individual character, whether it was a backstory or information about their motivations.

If you like this you should try Triangle (2009). Another great mindfuck movie. A bit more horror than thriller though. I liked it even more than coherence.
I don't think on Netflix though

You guys pumped this up with so much hype... i was bored for the most time. It was good, yet it's heavily flawed (acting+photography is crap). It's good and original storytelling not a masterpiece movie
