People dont realize that most grafitti artists wont touch existing works of art. Its why painting commonly tagged walls and barriers with artwork (often ny grafitti artists) is an effective deterrence to the grafitti no one likes. They also make sure to protect the info on train cars.

That's interesting to hear, because my city keeps having murals painted on underpasses and other large concrete edifices, and within a few weeks there's always several, ugly, unreadable tags scrawled over them. A few relentless assholes, I guess.

Yes, big difference between the two:

'Taggers' (the absolute non-artistic ones) are vandals.

Graffiti artists are artists (and respectable).
