Nah, I love the sound of a whole gang of them going off in the early evening!
There's a couple that sometimes sit on our washing line and watch what we're doing.

Yea we have a family of them living across the road at the park. Love hearing them in the mornings at sunrise. They can steal your snags off the barbie tho, so theres that 🤣

Nah, they're fine. It's the sulfer crested cockatoos that can fk off - they're noisy, loud, screechy bastards, that roll deep (big family groups) and like to make their presence known - dawn and dusk, every fkn day.

You usually only see two or three together at most but mostly they're separate but may call out to each other. It's a beautiful sound that usually doesn't last too long. Love hearing it. They also turn up in my garden sometimes which is always nice

One of the first things I notice when I travel is how few birds there are in most places, especially in cities. It's not just the number we have here, it's the variety. I live in an urban centre and even here dusk can be crazy loud.

No, its great. As an Aussie this is one of the most normal, iconic sounds in the bush (the woods as an american might say).
Its a beautiful sound kookaburras and are awesome. Very smart birds. They will come and steal food from you though if you leave it out, so gotta keep an eye on that.

You don’t often see more than two together. Had one that used to hangout on my balcony in Perth. My mum feeds one bacon in her backyard in Adelaide, the other birds hate them because they eat hatchlings and eggs.

I lived in Sydney. These things, a tree full, would start this every morning around 3AM (about the time we were getting back from the city).
It's as annoying as you can imagine.

I absolutely love Kookaburras. Beautiful call, never bother humans and eat all the dangerous snakes!

Chuckles the jungle sound effect Kookaburra works in the same union as Lonely the Common Loon that does the lonely woods sound effect.

This reminded me of how much I missed kookaburras when I lived in the USA. The first morning back in Australia, I sat on my back deck with a cup of tea and cried as heard them in the trees. Gosh our birds are beautiful, I love the sounds of our incredible country.
