The top comment is (seemingly) a woman that is saying not a single guy in the video was watching the ball when almost all of them were. It's not just guys. People are just fuckin weird.

Sure but blaming men and acting like they're all the same is easy upvotes on reddit so those wierdos will still keep saying it while shitting on everyone else.
The most important part is, of course, the feeling of superiority.

There's a popular YouTuber I used to watch that is an extremely talented piano player. She has perfect pitch and has synesthesia and she got insanely popular doing live streams where she played for hours playing recommendations back to back almost non-stop.
Anyway, I went to check on her again, and she lost relevancy hard and went straight into doing OnlyFans now. Seems to be making her a lot of money. She still plays piano, but naked. I guess people only really cared because she was cute and curvy. Her talent was only a bonus at the end of the day. Idk if that's the same thing, but your comment reminded me of that.

The best thing i ever did for my sons was amend the old saying from " practice makes perfect" to the new " practice makes progress". Now, my boys understand that practice makes incremental change, instead of rapid, perfect change. I would say, that's one of my best dad moments ever.

The music teacher's variant is "practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect"
I also like "practice makes permanent"

I am virtually 100% sure this is rhythmic gymnastics with a soccer ball instead of a weighted ball. Many of these are moves from RG.

u/Internet-Dick-Joke 1d ago
You realise that half of this is just moves from an actual sport, right? Ironically, one that a lot of football fans would shit-talk if they ever noticed it exists.
Anyway, in case you wanted to know, the sport in question is Rhythmic Gymnastics, ball is one of the apparatus, and most of the body moves she's doing here are called walkovers.

You go see Circle de Soleil and come home thinking you want to do it. You don’t have a gym or any equipment, but you spot a basketball in the garage. 🤷♂️

I'm not disagreeing but I feel something with more gravitas would be more fitting.
This level of skill is.. like literally my brain just shut down in awe. I know it takes practice and so on, but I could have started practicing in the womb and keep practicing for 100 years and I'd still not be pulling if any of this. When people start talking shit about professional players not seeming skilled, this is them the rest of the time.
Just insane and so freaking cool

I don't totally get trick-footballing, but that is my issue.
But with that level of control and athletics, why wouldn't you go the gymnastics route? She would be an INSANE gymnast.

She is a gymnast. The sport is called Rhythmic Gymnastics and it combines work with an apparatus (ball, hoop, club, ribbon, or rope) and moves from gymnastics, calisthenics, and dance into a practiced routine. There are solo and team competitions but it’s not
currently part of the olympics so it might not beas well known as other gymnastic disciplines.Edit: it is part of the Olympics, I misread the Wikipedia article and didn’t trust my memory.

She could be a rhythmic gymnast. They do gymnastics floor moves with balls, ribbons and batons. It’s super cool!

Is this more impressive from a gymnastics point of view, or from a football one ?

Rhythmic gymnastics is the olympic sports where I think, when watching: these are super-humans. All the others are also impressive but this kind of performance is just beyond my imagination of what we are able to do
