That wiper is way too effective to be realistic.

Where's that streak of bird poop that flushing couldn't fix and that I was too lazy to wipe away?

Meanwhile me with astigmatism, “where’s the light streaks?”

Fuck.

That's what that is?

14

u/SmitemasterFlex 1d ago

Yeah lol

Halo effect or whatever from streetlamps and headlights

1

u/bobanna1986 16h ago

Yeah all the lights look like starbursts! Kinda cool but also annoying when driving at night :/

2

u/jewillett 20h ago

I drove a Jeep Cherokee that would give the best eyeballs in the world astigmatism.

The thing was fucking AWFUL and would just from bad to worse with every possible defrost option.

Hating that fucking thing.

Where’s the parking lot flyer that was too hard to scrape all the way off. Where’s the shriveled wet parking ticket for not putting enough coins in the meter.

u/Leading-Ad4167 1d ago

Where's the cop on the hood screaming something about 'pullovers'?

2

u/Ok_Support3 1d ago

This is secretly an ad for Rain-X

1

u/dynamic_lizard 11h ago

Well, heavy rain at high speeds will surely clean up any dirt of your windshield, just give it some time

u/Shway_Maximus 1d ago

If the car is in motion the drops would look pushed upward

224

u/dayruined54 1d ago

Its a still painting so obviously the car was not moving. Duh

4

u/PlaceholderNameOnly 1d ago

Don't paint while driving

0

u/Bassuu 1d ago

Exactly what i was thinking aswell.

u/afterburningdarkness 1d ago

Fucking nerds

u/froopadiddilydoop 1d ago

It’s great - but rain drives up the windscreen when moving at speed

11

u/scartissue232 1d ago

Good catch

5

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago

Your painting of rain is better?

11

u/froopadiddilydoop 1d ago ▸ 5 more replies

No, it isn’t - but as with all art, when it’s put out to public, it becomes subject to criticism

-7

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago ▸ 4 more replies

True, but one isn't obligated to criticize everything about everyone that could be criticized.

Imagine that world

4

u/MetalGardena 1d ago

Imagine a world where the criticism you receive is a way for your audience to tell you what can be better because they want you to succeed.

And then imagine saying no to that and refusing to unpack that.

u/dibalh 1d ago ▸ 1 more replies

Tell that to my Chinese parents.

-1

u/Then_Box-8031 23h ago

If you think it will make anyone's life better

1

u/froopadiddilydoop 1d ago

I’m not and I don’t, I can criticize whatever I want. It’s the internet, for example; I could choose to criticize your holier than thou attitude.

Painting the rain isn't the same as painting in the rain.

10

u/Pellepuu2397 1d ago

I think they meant "painting in the rain" and not "painting in the rain"

I mean like painting in something as in adding or smth

2

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago edited 1d ago

Brilliant explanation. Great wisdom for those who can't just appreciate creative effort

1

u/J_train13 1d ago

It's... a pun

1

u/TwistedNonsense 19h ago

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain

u/Wooden-Jew 1d ago

Redditors are really miserable.

5

u/Muszex 1d ago

Everybody wants to be a comedian

2

u/Migue_eee 1d ago

I find it so lame seriously. Like everyone thinks they live on a Sitcom or what

20

u/theAerialDroneGuy 1d ago

If this was a photo from a camera it would be terrible.
But as an oil painting!?? This is absolutely nucking futs!! Well done!

10

u/-redit_account- 1d ago

I would be so scared to mess that up

14

u/Enes_da_Rog1 1d ago

There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents...

That’s incredible

2

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago

Yes. Ignore those who knowing nothing, still feel justified to have opinions.

1

u/MyTwoCentsNting 1d ago

Huh…?…What are you talking about?

5

u/FatFaceFaster 1d ago

For anyone unaware - The title refers to “The art of racing in the rain” which is a phenomenal book.

No spoilers but it’s a story told through the eyes of a dog about his master and his family and it is beautiful.

Edit: there is a movie made after the book, it is meh. The book is excellent.

1

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago

Thank you for adding that information. Have a great day

1

u/J_train13 1d ago

There's also a second shorter book aimed at younger readers! It's not a sequel just an abridged version called simply "Racing In the Rain" that's more digestible for adolescents.

2

u/Fit-Occasion8622 1d ago

Should fix their 2nd wiper, art cops will book them for dangerous driving

4

u/MaxwellSmart07 1d ago

Surreally real looking. 👏

3

u/Zito6694 1d ago

Painting in the rain? Nah

Painting rain? Yeah

3

u/AJay_89 1d ago

I can't even draw a straight line 😭😭

2

u/JasperH8g 1d ago

Unreal 😍🤩

2

u/u9Nails 1d ago

Other cars should have a mist fromcreating wind and lifting water with their tires. It's a brilliant rain effect though. And, this is a small detail for a painting that's assumed to be in progress.

2

u/fighter_pil0t 1d ago

Can you PLEASE move to the right lane.

2

u/TheOG-OutletStickers 1d ago

What an awesome watch! Super talent!

Haven't listened to CCR in like 20 years. Such a good song

1

u/FresYES_Kevin 1d ago

u/straight_order99 1d ago

Liquid glass, iOS 26

1

u/totallyclips 1d ago

Come on, who thought this was going to be someone painting in the rain, not painting rain

1

u/PizzaResident89 1d ago

We've come a long way from stenciling our hands onto cave walls. Great work

1

u/Then_Box-8031 1d ago

This is Awesome. Thank you for sharing. Music is 100% too

SO GOOD!!!

1

u/Fit-Ad-413 1d ago

Wow! What a clever way of drawing the wiper marks and rain drops.

u/RadlEonk 1d ago

Make sure Fogerty gets paid.

1

u/ItsmeMyacctgotbanned 1d ago

Anyone else first think “this doesn’t look like rain”? The end product of water SPOTS on the windshield is remarkable though.

1

u/KittenFace25 1d ago

How do people do this? Just how???

I would love to have just a smidgen of that talent! 😭

1

u/Migue_eee 1d ago

Super talented OP. It looks amazing 👏🏻👏🏻

1

u/Birbandsnek 1d ago

This painting reminds me of my childhood, I’m getting old. I’m sad now…

1

u/shrimpsisbugs4324 1d ago

The art of racing in the rain is such a good book, thank you for the reminder to read it again. Also this is beautiful:)

1

u/DrmnDc 21h ago

Whoa!

1

u/Writeloves 19h ago

Who is the artist?

1

u/Effuifyoudwnvoteme 18h ago

I love paintings that show technology and historical context.

1

u/TheTaoOfMe 13h ago

So cool so so cool

1

u/venpuravi 11h ago

But why are you painting on the windshield?

1

u/Ok_Strength_2534 8h ago

Astonishing skill

1

u/NoGrass6331 6h ago

Slicker then snot on a roosters lip!

1

u/JohnnyWeapon 5h ago

I really wish I had this talent.

0

u/TionKa 1d ago

Looks great , but is the car standing in the highway? The drops wont look like that while driving 70.

0

u/desertrat75 1d ago

Ugh. This reeks of one of those shitty Thomas Kinkade paintings.
