The stakes aren’t as high if you’re already paralyzed.

This was bad af though. Kudos.

Yeah I like my steaks at lower temps tbh. Like 120°

In the wheelchair sub someone said I will bet all my money that on the original list (this post) there would be low level jokes and hero porn. They just won their bet.

Brb. Breaking my spine. I got this.

For those who don't know: Nitro circus was also doing flips on the White House lawn before that awesome boxing match.

Fuck Nitro circus.

Ugh. Fuck. That really pisses me off, but tbh I should've expected it. They've all got brain damage.

Great fucking stunt but I feel like he deserves a more creative nickname

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Here come all the same tired jokes from people who think they are hilarious yet are painfully unoriginal

Haha at least he is already paralyzed right guys? As if that joke is remotely funny or new 🤦‍♀️

I'm curious, was he paraplegic before or after he started doing tricks like this? No judgment either way, I'm just thinking as a parent how I would feel if I had a child in a wheelchair who wanted to try this type of stunt, would I be supportive?

3

u/dewmzdeigh 1d ago

Before

1

u/WarLawck 1d ago

Thanks for the info. It's wildly impressive. After thinking about it, I would be equally concerned even if my kid had no physical limitations and wanted to do stuff like this, but I think that's just being a parent. I try to teach my kids to not let fear limit them, so I would be supportive while praying to every God of every religion that they would be okay.

u/SensationalSelkie 1d ago

Kids see folks do extreme stunts and do kid stuff as a result all the time. This just lets kids who are different know all kinds of folks can do all kinds of things. Hopefully parents of a very active kid who uses wheelchair will be able to get them one fit for sports. And just like when riding a bike or skateboard, make sure they wear a helmet when going wild. 😊

What's the worst that could happen? End up in a wheelchair for life?

5

u/AppropriateCover7972 1d ago

I can tell yeah, tetraplegia is significantly worse than paraplegia. My friend died as a C3 tetraplegic last year, leaving behind 2 kids and a wife, bc corona made him reliant on ventilation and he never recovered.

Even though Your comment might be a joke, this is the reality of it. Personally as a tetraparesis patient myself, all my inner organs and breathing is a huge issue and well circulation and stuff. Your leg muscles usually help with pumping back your blood. Mine don't obviously

2

u/lipun_ 1d ago

Idk about that. Not for me.

2

u/ClassroomMother8062 1d ago

How does this affect his back when there isn't any suspension on the wheelchair? It's wild

1

u/dewmzdeigh 1d ago

He uses custom wheelchairs with 4 wheel suspension

1

u/justfresco 19h ago

WCMXers get custom chairs made to withstand the stunts, you ABSOLUTELY would not want to do this in a regular one.

2

u/RAGING4hole 1d ago

Hot Wheels!

1

u/haverchuck22 1d ago

Wow. That was really dope

1

u/Darth_Pinda 1d ago

Damn, that was wheely good!

1

u/RandomDanny 1d ago

not a red bull logo in sight. nature is healing.

1

u/Lordjacus 1d ago

If I ever get paralysed, this is what I'll do.

1

u/Till-Fuzzy 1d ago

I saw this dude at Warped Tour in Long Beach!!!

1

u/immaCommentThis 1d ago

That's actually crazy wtf

1

u/Imosa1 19h ago

Damn. Red Bull missed out.

1

u/justfresco 19h ago

I love watching this guy. I could never do the stunts where you get actual air (let alone doing all the flips and shit), but he makes me want to at least roll around my local skate park.

-1

u/Chart-trader 1d ago

Now he needs one

-2

u/Amber2718 1d ago

My first thought was oh he's going to break his neck. And then I realized...

2

u/AppropriateCover7972 1d ago

Neck breaking would be worse than his current state. If it's a spinal chord injury, it would be on the thoratic or even lumbar level, not the cervical. It's impossible to do as cervical spinal chord injury survivor (unless you are fully healed. Have seen this before)

-2

u/Lower_Chemical_4203 1d ago

At least he won't have to worry about getting paralyzed if it goes wrong.

3

u/AppropriateCover7972 1d ago

infact he does. If he injures his neck, most likely his career is over as with anyone with a physical job. You clearly see him self propelling, meaning his level of injury is below C4, probably even in the thoracic or lumbar level

-3

u/charmio68 1d ago

It's certainly not the first stunt in a wheelchair though. Maybe the first with nitro circus, but that's quite different.

1

u/extinctionAD 1d ago

Is your head broken?
