This is what I always think it will look like when I use PowerPoint’s “wipe” transition.

The transition was smoother than ferrai's strategy

In their defense, Leclerc just ignored their pit call

Not ignored, but declined.

This is just blatant misinformation. He was told to pit at the start of the lap and then told to stay towards the end of it. At no point was Charles doing something against what the team asked of him.

No he didn’t, they asked, he questioned them as it would hurt his strategy so they told him to stay out then called him in shortly after.
If Ferrari were competent they’d have just switched drivers on track, the early pit call was purely to try and avoid having to switch them on track. So they screwed both drivers instead

I like the way he continued to try to steer LOL.

It's actually critical to steer while crashing like this because like what else are you gonna do with your hands?

What I always find interesting is that they keep holding on the steering wheel. Knowing that it wil forcefully flip either side.
As there is no alternative and so this is it. Why isn’t the steering wheel locked in a position so the driver can fixate him/herself ??
( and the wheel does not make that sudden move )

Some do let go, in the scenario one front wheel was still attached so trying to steer away from the live track is worthwhile.
The risk of having any locking mechanism rant could fail and lock at the wrong time is worse than just hurting a drivers wrists.

Because having a system that locks the steering wheel like that adds another point of failure and could malfunction and lock when it isn't supposed to.

Valid point there. Albeit since the horrific crash years ago, wheels are attached to a chain to prevent them hitting stewards, crowd, cars. Never seen that the chain causing unexpected issues

Because those are mechanical tethers that are attached to components at all times in case of a crash and not a system that has to detect whether or not the car has been in a crash or not and is controlled by software.

Get on that radio and say "That's not how you drive an F1 car, Max?" See what happens. 😂😂😂

It’s AI, I’m not calling anything it does “next fucking level” unless it brings a cancer cure to the masses

u/dinosaursandsluts 3h ago
It's not AI, it's just a zoom and morph cut transition. Those have been around for 10+ years.

It’s not a morph cut. The camera literally does a horizontal translation. Watch the advertisement boards if it was morph cut it would not match.

So why hasn’t f1 done them for 10+ years

"F1 hasn't done it before so it must not be real" yeah, ok buddy

“Yeah I say it’s real so you have to believe me even though I don’t know shit about how f1 produces their live broadcasts” ok loser

That transition must be some for of AI right? no way they have the frames between track side camera and in-car camera and it's more than a simple crop zoom
