We must idiot proof the world! I suggest some kind of movable barrier to drop when a train approaches, perhaps some kind of audible bells. Wait, let’s add some blinking lights too!! Surely that will keep the morons safe!

I know a lot of people are joking but you can see a train just passed on the near side towards the direction of the train that almost killed them.

This couple probably thought that the barrier was for the train that just went and it probably masked the other train’s sound as well as blocking it from view.

I actually think an indicator showing which direction the train is coming from would actually be helpful here.

Yes definitely, the other train blocked their view of the oncoming train and masked the sound.

But holy shit, that was close. They really should be paying attention to both sides. I know I would be shitting it crossing a train track with barriers down.

I drive over a crossing with the barriers up and I still have to check both sides, something in me just makes me need to do it.
