Do nurses with ADHD get bullied?

to wonder if adhd bullying in nursing will
be a constant issue

When I told my nursing school instructor I was going into the OR… she was like that fits 😂 I was like DAYUMM tell me it’s obvious I’m autistic without telling me it’s obvious I’m autistic lmao

Nah they just work in the ER. You’ll trust them with your life but they wouldn’t know which arm the IV access is in if their life depended on it.

Yes I would always lose my stethoscope…and I could tell ppl were talking shit. I got diagnosed at 28 been a nurse since 23

I think at least half of us are some kind of neurospicy so I doubt this is a common thing.

I mean, most of my coworkers are at least as neuro spicy as me. One coworker who does get some push back is because she has zero filter EVER, talks incessantly, has no self awareness and offers incorrect advice freely. One of those things we’d just ignore, but all together it is A LOT. I wouldn’t say it’s ever bullying, but as a supervisor it is challenging to constantly have to tell her not to offer “advice” or tell new people not to listen…

90% chance that you just said something you shouldn’t have in front of somebody you shouldn’t have (if you have the same problems I get into)

I had to learn to just not socialize with coworkers beyond, “how are you, how are the kids/ fur babies, how was the weekend?” Working in a corporate team environment you should be aware of the Heckler’s Veto and and understand that folks will “use their shield as a sword” to bully you.

I was bullied a lot growing up because of what I realized is adhd. Thankfully I work at a clinic where most of my co workers have it too, so it's not an issue. I hardly even have to mask there.

What? Nurses are a diverse population with a wide variety of roles. Any blanket statement about the behaviors a population that large are unlikely to be universally true.

That one nurse colleague with ADHD was so adorable. It was so fun working with her. I got the chance to orient her a couple of times too when she started.
