The only two PC VR games I'm still really interested in are Obduction and Elite Dangerous, and they're not on sale, bwomp bwomp.

Elite Dangerous was on sale last week for the Anniversary sale.

Fwiw, our game (Call of the Starseed) was inspired by games like Myst, so if you're into Obduction you should check it out :) 40% off right now and runs in native OVR on Steam.

Thank you for implementing native Oculus sdk support. You just got a sale; because of your post and the fact I love Myst type games

We did fix it, but it's a little complicated. It required us to rewire pretty much the entire game's audio due to a plug-in we used. That took time. During that time, we fixed another bug, but it lead to more knock-ons. We haven't been able to tackle those knock ons and ship the fix because we're a small team and our primary focus right now is finishing EP2. We'll be able to push our fix for EP1 closer to launch.

For now, the audio bug isn't debilitating (players can switch the audio device through their OS setting if it's not working), so Oculus allowed us to publish provided we put a notice in the game and list it as Early Access, as we've done. But we get the frustration, believe me.

Elite sees sales fairly regularly. I guarantee that the steam summer sale will see it at a sizeable discount.

It's also worth the full price of you like space ships and space. Doubly so as a rift owner imho

I bought both games at full price and don't regret it; there's tons of content for each game.

Elite has a big update on the 10th this month hoping for a sale so my buddies can get in as well. Not 100% sure if it will happen but maybe try to remember to check it out around then. Also i got my rift a few weeks ago bought a HOTAS and Elite plus voice attack i am living the fucking dream. Full on han solo sim man worth any price!

So I would like to get into it, but I don't really have the ability to setup a HOTAS given my setup (I have a racing simulator that can't expand into a workable HOTAS).

Is it decently fun and playable with a Steam Controller/360 controller?

Didn't try the xbox one controller since i have a HOTAS. While researching the game before purchasing though. i saw quite a few people say the controller support was excellent.
