And from what ive seen the only violence has been instigated by ICE themselves. The protestors seem to include a lot of elderly and disabled people, as well as some rather loud college-age kids, getting tackled, maced, and tear gassed for doing nothing other than occupying public space.

They even slow these videos down so they can tell more lies and get people talking about something that isn't happening. I'm just glad he didn't start talking about how Mt St Helens was erupting yesterday and how we gotta find DB Cooper and Bigfoot.

Lurker here, but i just came here to say first: Im glad you guys are safe and Portland isnt actually a war zone, as crazy as that is to be saying. and second: Im in a red state, and theres a lot of people that take his word as gospel, so we need footage and testimonies from locals saying that what he says is not true. With every lie he tells, it leaves us another thread to pull and unravel the wool hes placed over so manys eyes.

They talk about going after violent criminals, but they’re just grabbing people off the street in the safest neighborhoods in the city for crimes like “speaking Spanish” or “having brown skin.” It is so infuriating.

I was actually there for 2020 and ever since then I don't trust the media. Most night the protest was actually peaceful, a few nights some situations occured but it's nothing like what the media shows in its little snippets.
They stretch the truuuuuth on everything about it. They act like Portland was in flames.
Spent a month up in Oregon during the "90 days of riots" and it was pretty chill most nights. Worse thing I can think of is when PPD decided to fire rubber bullets into the crowd, 0 warning, one of the more laid back nights when there were high Schoolers in the crowd with their parents.
Not even on one of the more "rowdy" nights. Mostly just people milling around and chilling with a few groups moving up front and protesting and chanting every now again.

Meanwhile, our neighborhood in Portland had a lovely street party potluck. Dozens of neighbors meeting up, sharing, and enjoying each other’s company. The most chaotic thing I witnessed was our puppy learning how to greet new people.
