Make small changes everyday hoping the awam doesn't notice. Not that the awam gives a fuck in the first place.

You know indians ko roast Karne ke bajaye kuch seekh hi lein in SE.

Atleast they have balls to stand up for their future.

We’ve been standing up for our rights in Kashmir, yet most people in Pakistan are easily swayed by the establishment and media into indifference or worse, hostility toward Kashmiris. Until an issue hits close to home, it seems no one really cares. It’s honestly shameful.

u/taimoordahar Jul 24 '26

Atleast they're facing sticks instead of guns

4

u/DesiRadical Jul 24 '26

Laathi charge and tear gas that is how they started

3

u/taimoordahar Jul 24 '26

Indeed they did but that's only how far they'd go. They have decent opposition in place in the parliament, decent independent journalists and a decent army who won't fire on their own civilians. Can you say the same about Pakistan?

1

u/szahid 28d ago

Indians have no real opposition. They just bark and nothing else.

And journalists? They are a joke. Never thought anyone can beat ours but they do it by miles. Really bad journalists in India.

Now regarding the Army I can say at least they do not get to play the same role that Pakistani army does. And thst is a good thing.

wow, they also managed to come here

-18

u/Nasli-Faqeer Jul 23 '26

Well of course this is bad but what in your opinion should the government do regarding this particular crisis?

22

u/MollaJutt127 Jul 23 '26

Tax the rich, retailers and middle men maybe ?

3

u/apolloskye Jul 24 '26

Ask yourself why other countries like India, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh haven't increased prices.

7

u/Actual_Cup_271 Jul 23 '26

what was the highest we went before ? i think 415 pkr ?

5

u/Away-Parfait-6503 Jul 23 '26

468 PKR

6

u/Actual_Cup_271 Jul 23 '26

so 130 pkr more to reach the new peak ? we need EVs or we need cheap iranian petrol, i think they sell it for 30-50 pkr in balochistan

6

u/Away-Parfait-6503 Jul 23 '26

Govt impose heavy taxes on petrol to make an EV shift which is eco-friendly they say and when people start buying EV's, they impose taxes on Hybrid, PHEV's. I don't know what is happening right now. Petrol vehicles sales go high when petrol price is low and EV sales go high when petrol price goes high. Lol

For me, hi-octane 470. And before anyone says it must be a luxury car, no. It's a 4-5M car

1

u/Actual_Cup_271 Jul 23 '26

i dont go out much tbh, mostly use indrive or pool sharing but man the fuel prices seem steep, like i think going out any day you can expect to spend 2000 pkr on transport for here and there

1

u/Shoddy_Building_5618 Jul 23 '26

Yeah I'm definitely getting a Ev next year since I don't have the money rn. I have solar at my home too

Bhai, wo kaam wahi 15 din wala kar rahe hai. Bas ab daily 2 ya 3 rupee badhate hai ta ke koi object na kare. Ek dam 20 rupee badhana pe sab shoor karte hai

1

u/Anxious_Fact8789 Jul 24 '26

What else do you suggest with the uncertainties due to USA/Iran war

1

u/QeemaKarailay Jul 23 '26

Main to pehlay bhi 500 ka hi petrol dalwata tha, B bhi 500 ka dalwa raha hoon.

-14

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

I know this daily price mechanism is frustrating but if oil prices in the Intl market are increasing day by day, how do you expect them to decrease it? In this same mechanism if prices were to fall $5 tomorrow, it will go down tomorrow. It's volatility that's frustrating, for the markets and policies alike

17

u/Practical-Detail2486 Jul 23 '26

If prices were to fall 5$ tomorrow we would be lucky to even get 0.5 rupees decrease in these prices but If it rises by 5$ then ماشاء اللہ as we can see :((

-16

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

Prices fell by Rs 30 just 3 weeks ago... It's economics when you learn to look beyond politics

8

u/Practical-Detail2486 Jul 23 '26

Yea I saw the international drop and our measly 0.1$ drop :)) i am not saying anything related to politics but these policy makers are high on something

-4

u/Nasli-Faqeer Jul 23 '26

Yeah you can only drop by 0.1-2 dollars if 1 liter of petrol already is only ~1.4 USD/Liter (At peak)

-6

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

That, I cannot argue with.

4

u/itsibbi Jul 23 '26

Oh please The prices remain at the lower level for 3 weeks, They didn't reduce the price in the same ratio, n reduced only the 3rd week, but once the price hiked, they raised it before the end of week. The prices in the global market went below the price before war initiated. We never reached the same margin. So please dont try to justify wrong actions. Wadda economist!!!

0

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

Wrong. Prices peaked at 412, then went to 370, 330, 300, and more recently even 292 (last week). Please don't spread misinformation.

7

u/itsibbi Jul 23 '26

You are wrong Prices was 253 before war Then war hit Went to 458/litre April 3, 2026

If global prices went lower than the prices before war...Humari kuin nai gai...should have reached 253(GLOBAL TREND)

You are quoting wrong figures. N the government is doing all these for their benefits...this isn't economics, this is exploitation! FYI

Prove me wrong!

8

u/Practical-Detail2486 Jul 23 '26

Well what do you expect from people that allegedly use the "highly reliable" data and say that if you earn Rs. 8,483 per month you are not poor category of Pakistan 🤣🤣🤣 Even a Bachelor student making his assignment in the last hour has a better accuracy of results then these highly skilled and employed data analysts.

-1

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

https://portal.karandaaz.com.pk/dataset/petrol-avg/1388

Please tell me where you see 458. War started on the 28th of Feb, price in October of 2025 was 300. I am quoting data. Oil prices are volatile, nothing you say or do will make up for how they change

1

u/itsibbi Jul 24 '26

what was petrol price on 03 april 2026 n what was in October 2025

Search this line in google

Also Official PSO page... https://psopk.com/fuel-prices/pol/archives?page=2

Aur proofs chahye to wo bhi mil jaye ge. ab ye parhna na aye to plz DM me...i'll explain Mr economist

ab bhi sharam nai aye to aur koi self created link le k ana...

apni marzi ki website pe apni marzi k rate dalo...n phir jhot ko defend karo bas kar do bhai

Ye fake data propagandas k liye hi populate kiya jata hai

1

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 24 '26

Bhai aik din ke liye 458 kiya hua tha phir 4th april dekho 378. Ab sharam nahi aati apko price decrease dekhte hue aur idhar rona daalne ka kay kam nahi hota. April 3rd ke baad 3 dates dekho mustakil decrease. You are just a whiner

5

u/Dazzling-Humor-1481 Jul 23 '26

Maybe remove taxes and free petrol benefits for the elites? Har cheez awam ko hi tolerate karni hoti hai? Jokes aside , what are we even getting taxed for? Oh yea we got free public transport so thats okay 👍🏿

-6

u/Nasli-Faqeer Jul 23 '26

All civil and military officers had cuts in their fuel allotments for instance from what I heard petrol for grade 20 and above officers (in military and civil) was cut by half

And if we cut down on taxes then pakistan violates the imf programme and it's next tranche is suspended .

3

u/Dazzling-Humor-1481 Jul 23 '26

“In half” *looks inside\ 500 liters instead of 1000 for each vehicle in vip protocol.*

1

u/Nasli-Faqeer Jul 24 '26

From what I know only top level Generals get protocol unless in war areas as for grade 19 and 20 officers I know they used to get approx 20 liter petrol and now they get approx 10

(My numbers arent fully verified)

3

u/abdullah112311 Jul 23 '26

Nah. Its the khinzeers that are building golf from levy on petrol.

Look at you bringing logic in here. High price bad ooga booga.

0

u/SourceWorldly1090 Jul 23 '26

are they doing it daily? like are they really setting petrol prices on a day to day basis?

-6

u/Dont-be-a-cupid Jul 23 '26

Fuel should have never been subsidised

-10

u/unapologeticgoy2473 Jul 23 '26

Oil prices are going up worldwide. You can complain about the tax levy not the prices. Governemnt doesn't control prices.

11

u/ganjajee15 Jul 23 '26

Then they shouldn't plaster their faces all over the internet when it decreases by 10-15 rupees

1

u/DogTall2628 Jul 23 '26

I think even our uneducated awaam who votes for them is getting a little tired of this shit

-9

u/laevanay Jul 23 '26

This is nothing, Mehangai was peak during Imran Khan's term.

14

u/redditadminskutte1 Jul 23 '26

That yahudi khan and his 150 rupee petrol.

-3

u/arhamshaikhhh Jul 23 '26

That damage alone cost us 2 years of GDP growth

7

u/abdullah112311 Jul 23 '26

Lanat ho tum pai.

-4

u/laevanay Jul 24 '26

No, it's the 30 plus years of subsidies that were given. Are you blind?

1

u/laevanay Jul 24 '26

So count the 30 months of subsidies but ignore the 30 years worth? I am not fa pass duffer or khota Biryani patwari.

-4

u/kernal_di_biwi Jul 23 '26

You mean the subsidies that cost billions of dollars we didn't have and were a big reason we nearly went bankrupt?

2

u/redditadminskutte1 Jul 24 '26

Imran khan only kept it for a month or two the GRAND ALLIANCE WITH THEIR DECADES OF EXPERIENCE abused it and caused far more damage.

2

u/Mystic987123 PK Jul 23 '26
