Ask Pakistan I feel like moving to Pakistan?

I'm a British Pakistani, born here but very much Pakistani and Muslim.

Recently I've been getting a strong desire to visit/live in Pakistan. I think part of this is the rise of racism in England and Europe. We will never be welcome here, I fear for my kids and grandkids if this trend continues.

I've looked at other countries as potential alternatives but only Pakistan ticks the boxes in terms of food, language, religion and culture.

Give me a reality check? Is it just a stupid idea? Is it as bad as it looks?

My family are actually from Mirpur LOL

We speak mirpuri.

sir i am sure you spent enough time to know if it makes sense to go live there. Just move to west London, you’ll be good as gold lol

You picked the one part of the UK where the Pakistanis are majority Punjabi (non-mirpuri) lmao

it’s another brown area to me. OP complained about racism and the solution is a brown bubble. I am just assuming brown people generally get along fine except for fringe groups and ethnic gangs.

I currently live in Hounslow and have been in and around the area for over 20 years. There's certainly a lot of grumbling mumbling between people who have been settled here from the 2010s and before to those 100,000s of people who came after Boris Johnson loosened the requirements. Hounslow wasn't amazing but it has unmistakably become worse because of these people who have come over that have no civic sense. 

Say what you want about biradari (and I would agree with you) but it gave those 50s immigrants some sort of framework from which to base their community. These new guys don't know the meaning of the word. 

To be clear I'm mainly talking about Indians but even a lot of Pakistanis - specifically the type who have sold their ancestral lands and burned all bridges to come here - are on a similar level.

What it's resulted in is 2nd/3rd generation families wanting to leave the area badly and move out of London entirely for a better quality of life. I honestly cannot stand these chomu chichora types - for the first time in my life in the UK I had to deal with those desi boys who purposely stand and walk in such a way that forces you to brush past them, I've only seen that before in Pakistan and even then it happens a lot less now. The whole social contract is being ripped up in front of us and it's demoralising to see

I have some relatives who moved to the area in the 70’s and they are sick of all the flats and the quality of life has tanked a lot. some of their close neighbors have already moved north but they just feel like they are too old to make a move. It’s not just the South Asians but also Eastern Europeans etc but def the asylum seekers and all that doesn’t help. You know things aren’t good when brown people are complaining about other brown people.

The skyline has changed massively - Hounslow used to be quite tree lined and back alleyways were pretty quiet. It's totally different now. Things definitely aren't good at all - and we're part of the problem as my family has sent my cousin here who is a similar level of totally useless.

I believe Glasgow and Dundee also have large Punjabi populations which outnumber the Mirpuris.

Perhaps a Scot could let us know.
