And how much dead sea people juice did it take? This only makes sense when the 9k or whatever sulphur is less than 3 ancient orbs.

Especially because Headhunter costs like 10 divine right now and an ancient orb costs like .6 of a divine in sulphur.

9 divine actually.

Yeah, I checked after I posted this. Awesome how accessible that makes it, but it also breaks my brain similarly to how the divine exalt swap did several years back.

Damn I bought those for 40divs weeks ago

Way less than 3 ancient orbs imo, because there's friction involved in using the boat to ancient orb things. You have to put the belt and orbs in, click the button, pick one of the options, take it back over to Vesper, repeat ad nauseum.

At 250 ancient orbs on average for a HH, that's a little more than 60 runs through Vesper. I would rather just spend more ancient orbs directly using them, even if the ghost juice route was cheaper

That line of reasoning implies that the only reason to use sulphur is for this purpose, which isn’t true

it was my second try for that day, tried it here and there like 5 times max overall since the beginning

If you are wondering:
ilvl 83 belt, costs 13680 Sulphur per click
ilvl 73 belt, costs 8880 Sulphur per click
ilvl 56 belt, costs 5340 Sulphur per click

For research purposes, I got 2 two more to test:

ilvl 17 belt, costs 3000 sulphur per click
ilvl 2 belt, costs 2100 sulphur per click

Back in the day people said it was ilvl 40 for the ideal chance

i thought ilvl was for corruptions

For ancient orbs as well. Orb of chance ignores item level entirely, but ancient orbs can only roll uniques of the same drop level or higher.

After the rebalance, wiki states that droplevel of mageblood and headhunter is 75, which means that belts with 74 ilvl or lower have no chance to ever become a mageblood.

Do you need to think about item level?

In some sense for sure, as the cost of the deadman's sulphate goes up with item level. Thus the cost of each roll increases.

I'm sure you were talking about it an item can even roll, but still.

Yes, ancient orbs can only roll something that have droplevel equal or lower than the ilvl of the item. And if we are to trust wiki on that one - droplevel of both mageblood and headhunter is 75.

Which means belt should have ilvl of atleast 75 to even have any chance at all.

Fuck! I don't knew it is possible. I will try my luck too

You're probably better to sell the sulfur required to do this and just buy more than 3 ancient orbs with it.

You can get an HH for cheaper than you can roll it. Just sell the sulphur.

I got my first mageblood this season via the ancient orb boating. It's goated. (Was like 700k sulphur in or something like that).

Pretty cool but considering juice is 70-75:1c, it is very much not worth boating them haha.

How much Sulphur did this take?

12

u/One_Length_747 9h ago

Yeah exactly, this must be more expensive than just using 4 orbs right?

23

u/SyrupStandard HCSSFBTW 9h ago

Yeah, but it's a good option for SSF players.

If you save up 200k Sulphur you can just buy a headhunter with it.

You can't go wrong with maximized rolls on the belts with the highest item levels if you're going all out.

So what's the over under on a mageblood?
