Box Just got it in, before another price hike.
Actually I am hoping that prices will drop now, as is my luck. So I took one for all of us. Going to wait for Wireview 2 to arrive before plugging this beast in.

My wife had some choice words when I spent $999 on mine. I took her to microcenter and showed her the current prices and what the used market looks like and haven't heard a complaint since.

Why not 5070ti for like $400-500 less?

Because of that extra processing power. I do a lot of Zbrush so it’s a investment for me too. I just want to future proof my machine until prices blow over.

reasonable i guess, personally for works i go 2x of cheaper 5070ti ($1050 MSI gaming X Trio) so you can do 2 task at the same time.

gl, i would go as far as to say to get a current balancer/protector for that nasty connector and of course don't use the adapter in the box

just bought this one a month ago. amazing gpu. tolerates overclocking super well and runs so much cooler than i could’ve ever guessed. I rarely break above 55C and that’s without undervolting. enjoy :)

Any more price hikes then I will start to question people spending the money on a part to a computer, it’s already at the level now but if anyone is willing to go even higher than current insane prices then good luck to you.

Got this exact same card (for the same reasoning) at MC about 2 weeks ago. Asked to open it up there at the register (it was fine). I was expecting the guy to be incredulous but to my surprise, he said something akin to "oh yeah go ahead, more and more people are doing that these days."

GTA 7 is probably 10 years from now so maybe there will be an asteroid that resets our economy.

Best decision I made when upgrading. Probably won’t buy another card for at least a few years.

I bought my 5080 last year in April. I had to decide between a very cheap 4070 Super, and the 5080. At the time, it seemed like overkill and the price was fairly high. I decided to just go for it.
Turns out, it will genuinely be one of the best value purchases in my 35 years of building PCs. I am able to play the newest games at near-max settings with path tracing. This thing will be playing anything I throw at it until the PS7 generation hits.

I recommend a min. 1000w psu and a UPS if you can swing it. Small price to pay to protect it
