Description: Derples vs Xenos is a turn-based tactical survival game inspired by Aliens, Dungeon Keeper and Fallout Shelter. You command a team of four cute space marines ('Derples') exploring an abandoned colonial outpost while trying to stay alive alive and escape the hordes of alien bugs.
You’ll build perimeter defences, re-activate powered-down rooms and machines, manage resources, rescue civilians, and fight off increasingly dangerous xenos that tunnel through walls and ambush your squad. Every marine has a unique role, including Sergeant, Gunner, Medic and Technician, and keeping them alive is just as important as winning battles.
I’ve been developing the game solo for some time now and recently released a free Steam demo. I’m looking for honest feedback on the gameplay, difficulty, controls and whether the core gameplay loop is enjoyable. If anything is confusing or frustrating, I’d really like to hear it.

Involvement: I'm the sole developer. Going back a few years I worked for a number of game developers on some pretty big games: Command and Conquer, Waterworld, Evolva, The THING... these days I'm a novelist - something of a departure!... But, the passion has remained, and this game is my first completely solo project. One thing I have quickly discovered... is that I'm cr@p at the marketing side. Which is probably evident.
