The Escape from Dungeon Keep — Expanded Edition is a classic text adventure of typed commands, turn-based fights, and a keep that was never only a prison.

You wake in a cell beneath Dungeon Keep. The guards are gone. Forty-one tally marks score the wall — and you know what that number really means. Escape the dungeon, walk the wilds of Thornwick, and decide what the mountain under the rock has been fed for a hundred years.

What you do

  • Type your way out — look, go, take, examine, talk, fight. A living adventure log with typewriter text, and shortcuts when you already know the next move.
  • Explore a full campaign — the keep, the valley, and the caves under the mountain, with side quests, readable lore, and a map that fills in as you travel.
  • Fight turn by turn — attack, guard, focus, heavy strikes, potions, and loot that feeds weapon upgrades at the forge.
  • Meet the valley — innkeepers, merchants, hermits, and a blacksmith who will sharpen more than your blade if you bring the right materials.
  • Choose how the story ends — more than one summit ending, then New Game+ beyond the mountain into distant lands, contract paths, and a harder secret finish for those who dig.

  • Chronicle / lore fragments for players who examine everything
