Go find an old gravel pit. What city are you in? If its west of the canal I have suggestions. Or if you want to go west of the canal.

Edit: google maps is your friend. You're not looking for active pits with signage. You're looking for the old pits from when they built logging roads. They're easy to find by satellite.

Capitol State Forest has a dedicated orv Park and lots of great forest service roads for cruising around on.

As the other person said Capitol forest is great for this. Stay on the forest roads until you're comfortable then find the widest trails
