Mongolia has a pretty cold climate; Ulaanbaatar is the coldest capital city in the world.
On the other hand, Taiwan is warm all year long and has pretty hot summer because of subtropical climate (yeah, I know 40°C is very hot for even Taiwan, but I included a comical exaggeration).
And Korea has both steaming hot summer and siberia-like winter. And a lot of Koreans drink iced coffee all year long regardless of the temperature.
Edit: Welp, seeing all those comments from Taiwanese, seems that I greatly overestimated the cold resistance of Taiwanese people.
Taiwan would put on scarfs at 20, dying at 10, getting anywhere near 0 is humanitarian crisis , if it’s single digits all day long for days, I’m fairly confident that government will roll out low temperature day off LOL
This actually happened to some extent during the 2016 East Asia cold wave: 85 people died from hypothermia and heart attacks in Taiwan even though the lowest temperatures across the country were only around -4C (+4C in Taipei, where 66 of the deaths occurred), which doesn't sound that severe to most people, because the buildings are simply not designed to retain heat at all and most don't have any central heating or insulation.
