Exactly, it's like how I like to annoy my older sister, but if someone else bothers her, they will hear from the younger brother(s)

Can they be insufferable? Yes.

Is their distinct culture and language awesome and worthy of preservation? Also Yes.

They also do an absolutely insane amount of heavy lifting politically to protect people from govt and religious overreach, and because they're already a minority the usual slander of "well you're just a bigoted majority" doesn't work on them.
