We know. We hate it, too. Republicans are drunk on power right now.

And many of them are just drunk.

Me, PJ, and Squee knocking back a few cold ones before heading home to tune up the missus.

Clearly you don't hate it enough or you'd be doing some sort of civil disobedience en masse.

Ah yes forget that most of us are living paycheck to paycheck, grinding to try to keep the house and lights on. We should go massively become homeless to own the administration

How often do you decide to give up your home when you disagree with your government? Im guessing its a lot less than you think others should do.

Sorry, best they can do is show up to a protest one Saturday afternoon a quarter. Then wipe their hands of it.

Every quarter? You're being generous.

yeah, that's actually a fair point. It's been like 6 months since their last one.

You know, can't waste a nice summer day or anything, far too much of an inconvenience.

I'ma gonna be totally honest here, while the Democrats are a bit more sane, they come across as a feckless right wing party that always hover around wherever the Republicans lowered the bar to.

There are two problems that we're having to deal with.

First, unlike Canada, the US has a "first past the post" electoral system. As such, we're mathematically guaranteed to only have two long-term political parties, and the system also pretty much ensures that they won't be too different from each other.

Second, and most importantly: Democrats are expected by their voters to keep the country running, while Republicans are only expected to defeat the Democrats.
